A pretty girl I know said we could "date" but first I'd have to quit smoking. She's not a bitch or controlling, she just said she doesn't like the smell and all that. What would you do? What would jesus do?

Honestly I think if a girl really wants you they'll get over it. Its probably just an excuse not to hookup with you.

While you should quit anyway, i'd never want to kick off a relationship by changing for her. Unless you're the type who likes women 'wearing the pants' it sounds like it'll open the floodgates of letting a bitch tell you how to run your life.

And to answer your question - back when I smoked - no, I wouldn't have quit in those circumstances.

If/when you quit, it can't be for another person... it's gotta be for yourself - or the whole thing'll come back and bite you in the ass in multiple ways, I'd imagine.

If you do really want to hook up with her, let her know... and maybe also let her know that while you may quit at some point in the future, doing it "for her" would handicap the relationship in a way that you wouldn't want it to. Offer to revisit the idea at another time.... sounds like you got your whole life in front of you, man.
