BUG in Wordpress 2.3 and New features added to Autoblogger Pro SA

Just a quick post to all users of ABPSA. We have added two new features (explained below) to ABPSA and have many others on the way.

Here are the new features and a basic description of what they do:

* Linkspinner - Linkspinner is the multiple Link version of the Relinker. It will allow you to add multiple outbound links per keyword/phrase. In addition the Keyword or phrase used for the relink can be multiples as well, this makes it much easier to manage multiple keywords.

* Feedspinner - Feedspinner is the multiple version of the rewriter sometimes known as a content spinner or morpher. By setting up a rewrite rule, you can now change a word or phrase to another word or phrase from a wordset (random words/phrases). Once a word in a set is triggered within a post the random engine will replace with another word/phrase within that set. This is primarily used to increase keyword density, increase the amount of unique articles on your blogs, and avoid duplicate content penalties.

Existing users can get the new features by logging in to the members area and clicking regenerate archive. Overwrite your existing files then run updater.php.

If you have any questions regarding the new features or planned features please ICQ me (in location) or submit a support ticket via the relinksoftware.com ticket system.

Also a user of ABPSA found a bug with a plugin called "google sitemap maker" and ABPSA that seems to only affect Wordpress 2.3 installations. Apparently, this plugin for some gets in the middle of the posting process and returns garbage because the database layout in 2.3 is different from what it was. There is a new version of google sitemap maker that fixes this. If you use this plugin on ABPSA managed blogs please update it to the most current version.

Wordpress 2.3 changed something in their DB structure. A lot of plugins are affected, among them the sitemap one:

Looking great Chio!

I am loving the feedspinner :)

FALSE ALARM

Just a quick post to all users of WordPress 2.3

The "bug" is in the incompatibility of ABPSA and a sitemap plugin.
■ The issue is NOT Wordpress 2.3 ■

This thread should have been titled,
"Compatibility BUG in ABPSA and a sitemap plugin when used with Wordpress 2.3"

Um... The plugin is the problem not ABPSA :1orglaugh ABPSA is compatible with wordpress 2.3 *unless* you use the *Sitemap plugin* which as I said has *a fix available*

If you read this post with the empahasis where noted by * perhaps you'll get what I was saying. :upsidedow

The Google Sitemap Plugin previous to version 3.0 breaks wordpress 2.3, but in a manner that isn't "death" to your blog. Your blog will continue to operate normally, albeit with a small error message on some pages.

However, this break does screw up the posting to a blog by ABPSA, which cannot interpret the error message, and as a result doesn't understand that it has successfully posted to your blog. On each successive run of ABPSA, it will post the same posts over and over again (because it think it is failing each time).

Removing that plugin and replacing it with Google XML Sitemaps version 3.0 or higher resolves the issue.

The "break" in wordpress is that the software is very poorly designed, and allows plugins to get in the middle of core, basic processes (such as posting) in a manner that can break or affect the posting process. Wordpress allows their core processes to get fucked up by third party plugins, a real annoying deal. Version 2.3 (and the upcoming verison 2.4) are looking like major pains in the ass as they redo some of their DB structure and basically go out of their way to break everything in sight.

So why upgrade then?
