'Changing' gallery after submission
 

I've seen lots of TGPs that warn not to change your gallery after its been accepted otherwise you get an instant ban.

Now this is obvious they dont want people changing the images, content, adding 'tricks', popups, redirect and shit like that.

But what about us honest webmasters .. if we made a mistake in our link code or there's 1034293 sites hotlinking our movies, can we go in and change the mistake or rename the movies (preventing those hotlinkers) ? Will brownie or whatever script instantly ban someone if there's a non rule breaking change like this made in the gallery?

Brownie will only pull the link - it won't cause a "ban". I was going to say it wouldn't hurt to contact the TGP owners, but shit - if you submit to 60+ that could be a time killer. I guess the best thing to do is not have a mistake right off the bat. No easy answer. Most TGP owners you e-mail won't reply, anyway.

I don't know what Brownie will do or won't do, but sound advice is as the man stated, "I guess the best thing to do is not have a mistake right off the bat." I will add to that, verify, reverify and once again.

i'm sure it would check the last modified from your server
if it was after you submitted the page it would notify the admin

then its up to the admin to check it.. or ban it

I had a similar problem with a gallery that I had started submitting and realized that my html was messed up. I was about 1/3 of the way through my submissions. I ended up creating a new gallery with the fixed html, new directory structure etc and continued the submissions. I asked around on other boards and it seems like others have had this problem and that they just left the mistake and moved on. It's a sucky response though - especially in the fact that you have movies that can cost you in bandwith charges.

jesus, set up .htaccess and you wont have any problems with hotlinkers

and subscribe to gallerychecker.com to monitor all your galleries for changes :thumbsup

Uhm you can't htaccess movie files unless you use cookies. Some tgps don't allow cookies on pages :BangBang:

My problem isn't about the pics.. it's about the movies.

From what I understand if you change the gallery at ALL they will drop your gallery.
This sucks big-time because if you've got a recip up there from someone who rejects your gallery, you have to leave it up and keep leaking traffic and link pop to them for free.

I understand that the TGP owners need something to help them catch cheaters - but they put serious limitations on honest guys (and gals) as well. :(

I don't think correcting your gallery is what they mean.....but anyway if they are going to be pricks like that fuck em....submit your gallery somewhere else. TGPs are a dime a dozen and you don't need to waste your fucking time with egomanics...
