VIDEO EDITORS & PROS - Need help

K so I was looking at some exclusive content as sample from a producer today but when I watched the HD video - 25% of the screen (right side if it matters) was 'green' & had like grids.

I tested a few more and although they didn't have grids - it was still 'green' on the right like if someone played with the hue or something.

I went to look at my husband's PC and it was impeccable.

Is it a codec issue? (I don't have this problem with ANY other video or anything else on my screen)

Is there anyway for me to see what codecs I have installed and compare them to a 'must have list' & what is the must have list?

Thanks - Much appreciated

Thanks Tony - the stranger part is that he has two sites he showed me his work on and one looks perfect and the other doesn't - so it's not me?

maybe the company he farmed it out to fucked it up? Maybe it was uploaded incorrectly.

from my understanding he captures/renders and whatever else is done to make it pretty. I will definitely ask - just tested another place & get the same effect. Weird

BTW - RedShoe - thanks :) I was hoping you'd give some input.

Tony404 - I checked that site but couldn't find an answer, but will try again today in case I was just to tired to see it blaring in front of my eyes hehe

could be the way he encoded it
wrong settings.. stretched out..

if just few of the vids.. then could be that. If all of them.. then I'd say make sure it's Hd and not content made to look like Hd

or could be dvd content.. happens when taking old scenes from dvd's.. get green(or red) at bottom.. or grid like ya say

but just a guess. if someone can get ya a definite answer, i'd like to know too. I'm always open to knowing new techniques/answers to questions

to find out what codecs were used in the video .. download Gspot http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

to play just about any codec download BSplayer .. so far I find it to be one of the best players out there (free version has you stuck with Pop ads, but they are tolerable) http://www.bsplayer.org/
