YEah... it's pretty rough here in the Philippines as well. Peso to USD conversion used to be 1:57 now it's 1:45 and sinking. :( :( I wouldn't mind if it continues down this path if the vast majority of the population enjoyed lower prices as a result. However, they aren't really feeling any increase in purchasing power due to the strength of the peso.

Re Canadian dollar strengthening: It will probably continue a long time into the future as long as Canadian oil shale/oil sand remains in heavy demand due to the insane global price of oil.

Seriously... the Canadian dollar has been good for a number of years now and Canadian markets have performed very well in relation to other western countries - eg.. a 60&#37; return over 5 years in comparison to Japan at 39%, UK at 64%, Germany at 30% and the US at 18% or under 3.5%/year.

Canada also has a very bright future and plenty to offer on the world markets - so, it's kinda irrelevant listening to stupid banter from the debt-ridden :1orglaugh
