Sucks for us in the UK. We're over 2 dollars to 1 pound now and its only getting worse.

KlenTelaris, it can be expected that regardless of the USD/EUR trend, countries like yours will experience apprecciation of their currency in the upcoming years anyway.

Same thing happened with the polish currency and with other Middle/East European countries which are developing fast and joined or expect to join the EU.

also, people saying that the USD will never pick up are also wrong.

What will happen in 5 years can't be predicted.

You can not exclude that the USD will be stronger than EUR again - in 3 years (unlikely), 5 years or in 10 years.

Only time will tell.... :)

The Dollar will come back. Here is a chart showing the fluctuation against the pound going back to 1982. Looking at relatively short term charts doesn't help much.

I need to start chagrining in euros and bank in Europe.

Its also affecting me in some negative sense, but I am still happy ... may be this can make americans think about themselves and they decide to stay away from fucking wars and shit .. and world become an even better place to live.

Come on many of you have been reaping massive rewards when the dollar was much higher. Assorted US companies and providers had a damn hard time competing price wise for some time. Now the tide has turned for awhile and so many are bitching.

I do not recall complaining much when I was buying something from Canada or Eastern Europe and paying a mid to high price in US dollars knowing damn well some were converting at 150% or more.

Trust me, I feel your pain. I have been earning in dollars but spending in British pounds for about 8 years now and it is like taking a pay cut yearly despite earning more dollars every year.
