Does GFY get a lot of SE hits?

I was thinking of starting my own webmaster blog and I was wondering if it would be worth it to cross post my blog posts on gfy

I'm sure GFY gets a fair amount... however, each thread would have to be optimized properly to get a good position within the search engines; or are you talking about GFY.com and not it's threads?

Probably the threads more than anything. I will be hosting the text on a subdomain. I don't know how well I will be able to optimize them since they are going to have a lot of information in them. These will be really huge tutorials aimed at mostly new webmasters.

Quick SEO basics... Hope this helps you mikesinner !

If you are looking to Search Engine Optimize; I would suggest using Google adwords keyword volume check service... such is free and gives you the volume of searches per keyword combinations and use those keywords that have good volumes... then include them in your meta tags and within your body of your index page text... make sure they show up at least 8 times each within the <body> tag plus in your meta keywords and should be found within the <h1> to <h5> tags... write up a good keyword description and then test your keyword density....

It would also help to have such keywords found within your sub domains...

Hope this helps you out...

Ya I pretty much understand SEO. It's just when your writing informative text it's kind of hard to SEO it for pacific keywords because you are talking about thousands and thousands of words in each post. Usually you will get a lot of SE hits just not a lot that are focused on specific words. I was just wondering If I should cross post them to the webmaster boards since they will basically be business threads.

lol, of course there is. Getting them to follow through after they sign up under a program is the real problem.

There is always market for anything.

mikesinner tuns word and or phrases, unless popular in searches, will not be searched for... what I am saying is to pick those keywords that describe your content, but that has a good search volume and to focus on those... besides it is your index page that is going to be picked up by the Search Engines... so why not SEO it properly?
