I want to start an AVS site and was wondering what kind of content I can use and where can I get it from ? Is there a place where you can buy the licence or you can just put pretty much anything you already have ?

Why BUY content when you can get all the free content you want by following links to all the sites of the members of this board, right clicking on the images you find, and then supplementing that with content from the newsgroups? Only a CHUMP actually PAYS for content! :thumbsup

Use CyberAge they offer TON of free content, they probably have 10K+ pics online and they add 500 or so monthly. I think they even offer free hosting.
