So for the last 96 hours I've been chasing a webmonkey
that has an iBill link code of a partener's of mine.

The guy took G note for the setup and then claims to
have gotten a lung infection from a watersports shoot.

My partener is threatening bodily harm...

Should I hang the guy to dry, or take it at face and get
in the way?

...we have been friends for 15 years, but he took more
than enough money up front.

In this biz, where does friendship end???

If I am understanding the picture correctly. You have to answer that for yourself. Is a grand equal to a fifteen year friendship?

That's why I asked for some opinions...

15 years working sound gear and photo shoots with
a guy or ... I take a beating because he swiped a G
from a guy that I'm in current business with.

It's a hard call, really what makes it worth it? I'm not
going to lose the partener either way, but fuck I'm a
small guy (previous pictures to this board really are me)
and don't like to take a beating either. Nor really in the
long run do I want to be labeled as a theif by association.

Have you talked to the friend that took the grand. If he is a friend he will step forward, if he doesn't I wouldn't take the rap for him.

or maybe your "friend" should be asking himself that?

Rule #2: Personal is personal.
Even if you're doing business with friends, your business comes first. It is your livelihood. If a friend is willing to fuck over your livelihood, then he is not a friend.
