Does it take a long time to become a canadian citizen. I got a friend who wants to move to canada and he asked me if i knew people in canada so i tought i can just ask people here. So what does it take to become a canadian citizen?

Alberta is in urgent need of more workpower to satisfy the growing rconomy, I suppose the government will soon come with the laws to allow for more immigrants to come in.

To become a citizen of Canada, though, you must have lived in the country for 3 years. Even if you marry a Canadian citizen, you will not become one. You will still have to have lived in her for 3 years.

If your friend has good education and experience in high demand field, I would just apply for permanent resident status in Canada. It's not that difficult. It only take the government a while to process you application. He could be eligible to move to Canada in a year from now if he applies right away.
