Red dots on Fox shows

I watched the first 2 Prison Breaks last night and saw red dots. Did a slomo on the TiVo to see if they were something like GE's 1 Second Theater, but nothing.

Googled and there are reports of people also seeing them on Kville and Kitchen Nightmares.

Anyone have any more info? :helpme

(no, I wasn't taking anything while watching :winkwink:)

Besides a few other people (whom I'm now beginning to think are freaks), am I the only one who saw this? If you have Prison Break on TiVo (or anywhere), it's approximately 36 minutes into the show during the first episode, not so sure about the 2nd - but it's about the same period of time.

I've already deleted them or I'd know for sure.

I'm going to start drinking heavily before watching from now on and see if they go away ;)

i seen the two red dots too so youre not crazy

They are in different places for each city, so that fox can see who is stealing their shit. :)

Little red dots, like when someone has a rifle with a laser-guided scope trained on you?

hmmm...

That's actually pretty clever...too clever for fox.

i saw them too on prison break the other night. I bet they are placing them in different places to maybe figure out what feeds are being copied and uploaded to torrent sites.

That was my first thoughts when I saw the two red dots.

Oh thank goodness I'm not totally crazy :) I hope I can find out more info about it. When I saw it on the first show, I wrote it off. 2nd show and I knew something was going on. Other people seeing it and it SEEMING to be so far be only on Fox shows and I feel better.

Odd that so far it's been at least 1/2 into the show (though someone said they saw it 22 minutes into one).

Thanks :)

those 2 red dots looked like the terminators eyes!!!

riddler 02-04-2008 06:48 PM

its just anti piracy measures, so they can statistically find out where a tvrip came from on the web

Na the movie big movie producers have been doing this kinda thing when they give out screener DVD's. They can then have an ID for each and every DVD given out to then find out who leaked it.

Software and Gaming companies have also been known to do this kinda stuff when giving out pre release products for testing.

Yeah, I figured that out a while back but forgot about this thread :thumbsup Pretty clever, IMO. Especially since they had people thinking it was a way to combat piracy :)

Great new show too. Maybe not up your alley, but it works for me.

V_RocKs 02-04-2008 10:06 PM

Close the window blinds and the dots will go away.
