They sent a warning e-mail like this one:

Per our terms, we do not allow promotion of our site using abusive marketing strategies. Any webmaster that engages in such practices will have their account terminated and all monies forfeited.

Fling is all over torrent sites and they are whining about people advertising on myspace, what a joke

I got the email too.

It must work to some point.

The other day I had 80+ friend requests from fake fling.com profiles on myspace.

It use to work reallly really really well. But like everything else the market got saturated and everyone and their mom started doing it. Plus myspace cracked down alot more and made it harder to add friends, send comments etc. But for awhile it was a goldmine.

On a side note, is Fling.com's geo targeting working for everyone? It's not working for me, but it might just be a local issue or my ISP.

They're probably just covering their ass, but they may not intend to terminate anyone. But it might come handy to have the "proof" that they did take step to prevent spam and what not :D

Lets not act like Fling is doing this out of the kindness of their heart. Myspace is about to sue the fuck out of people that are spamming their site. Wait and see.

I get 20-30 myspace spam add requests a day... hopefully this helps

Damnit, I just realised that the email specifically mentions social networking sites.

I thought they'd pulled me up personally on some violation so of course I emailed them back.

They could have worded it a little better and made it clear that it was a general warning.
