My Son is getting Married :)
Well it is official. My Son is getting married.
I am very proud. This is a good day for my family. She is a school teacher they went to High school together had not seen each other until last year when they started dating (long distance). The only bad is they are not going to live near the rest of the family they will be living in the midwest. :( I will have to be a meddling parent and figure a way to get them out to Florida :) any suggestions or should I stay out of it? |
Congratulations Dan. Thankfully I have a few years to go until that day...
Just buy a place that happens to be conveniently empty, close to you guys and they'll come flocking. |
Congratulations, great news!!!
|
Congrats Dan, how old is your son.
You must have had him very young since you don't look a day over 30. |
Congrats Dan.... it is wierd when they grow up isnt it :-(

Congrats! Best of luck to your son ;)
|
Congratulations - that's always great news!!! Soon enough, someone will be calling ya 'grandpa' too hehehe
Also - stay out of it - you can always travel to see them or have them come see you. Best they make their decisions themselves from the get go. |
Dan - I am very happy for you and Lisa. Chris is a great kid and I am sure he will be happy. Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks.

Congrats. Yes stay out of it. My mom and dad are still upset about me moving away and still trying to get me to move back home. I'm a grown ass woman with my own life to live and I want to be where I want to be. Not where my parents want me to be. Well that's how I feel about it. Or you can just ask them if they'd ever consider moving to FL. If no don't push it. Just my 2 cents...

I had my son at 16 and was a single parent at 18 raising him for a few years until I met and marred Lisa. She and I have been married for 19 years now. So I started young :) |

Hey Dan congratulations on the good news :thumbsup
I've got three in college now but none close to getting married. One day:upsidedow If they are set on moving to the midwest then I say set them up on a nice little ranch with some corn feed cattle and you can enjoy some awesome steaks for the rest of your life :winkwink: _ |
Congrats Dan!
They grow up so quickly...it's just amazing because you wake up one day and find they have turned into adults, leaving you wondering how the hell it happened! -- Bill |

|
congrats..nice to hear that.:)
|
Awesome news - get them on a webcam so you can chat with them regularly. I know it is nice to have them around, but thats the job of parenting, watching them move into the world on their own with the lessons you have taught them
|
congrats! i'd stay out of the whole thing till a later date.. patience!
|
Congrats Dan, it is hard but always nice to see your kids on their own path.
|
congrats
|
congratulations!!!
|
congratulation Boss .. This is great News!!
|
well, i would let him live his own life because then he will resent you for trying to make him do things.
|
Congratulations!
As far as advice... My parents live on the opposite coast. I appreciate that they clearly communicate that they miss being close by, but they also support me in my west coast existence. Guilt trips never work. Just save up for lots of plane tickets and enjoy the time you do get together :) |
Congrats :thumbsup
|
That is fantastic news Dan! Very happy for you and your family.
As for meddling, nah, rack up your miles on AA instead and enjoy them when you get to see them. |
Congratz!
|
Congratulations to your son and to you too. :)
That's the normal feeling when your child will go away from your place but I think you'll overcome that feeling sooner or later... |
|
Congrats!
