If you don't care about it being somewhat cumbersome, you can use VirtualDub for this task, but it only works with AVIs.

There is an unofficial VirtualDub-MPEG fork which will work with MPEGs as well.

You need to install DivX or some other codec to recompress it. It normally saves it 'uncompressed'. You choose those under the audio/video -> compression menus somewhere.

I think you are forced to recompress because of the overlay image, but you can try 'Direct Stream Copy'. That'll at least work for the audio.

oh snap!
it was saving uncompressed lol

i am trying out different codecs and i am getting file sizes in the range of 30-55mb for a 10mb file before logo filter.

thank you for your help. it's very nice of you to help. :thumbsup

Keep trying other codecs, then, and see if it's resampling your audio. Audio is usually saved as uncompressed WAV. That may be your extra 40MB.

Just make sure you use 'normal' codecs for compression. Nothing really bizarre that people probably won't have installed. :)
