How do people watch baseball

I tried watching baseball the other night but its to slow of a game to watch on tv. Maybe its the announcer and the way he talks. Going to the game is much funner to watch then on tv. What are your toughts on this?

Who was the announcer?

I enjoy baseball, but fully understand it's not the fastest paced game out there...
it seems there tends to be more of an intellectual element to the game rather than just a physical element...the situation in a game can change based upon so many different factors and each pitch/outcome can change what happens next.

Well, I see your point - but I must raise this one: Televised golf. Truly you must agree that no matter how boring the game is, it's not fucking golf.

I'm not really into sports, but watching it on TV is the worst, too limiting I guess. Chillin' with friends, getting rowdy, drinking beer, and eating hotdogs at the game...that's enough to make any sport fun.:)

I agree with you, it's just too boring to watch it on TV.

I tried to do it a couple of times, but gave up pretty quickly.

LiveDose 09-25-2007 04:24 PM

I was raised watching baseball. I think that goes for the majority of people who enjoy it as adults. A lot of times is revolves around following one team as well.

Vin Scully (sp?) is one of the best baseball announcers of all time. Sure he is getting up there in age, but he is pretty much a one man team where as both teams have two announcers.

StickyGreen 09-25-2007 04:55 PM

It's just one of those things... you either like it or you don't. If you're not into the game of baseball then you probably wouldn't enjoy watching a game on TV.

ridikuloz 09-25-2007 04:57 PM

I like to watch baseball with rock music on.

Spunky 09-25-2007 05:12 PM

If I ever want to catch up on my sleep,I watch baseball..Great to play boring to watch

ztik 09-25-2007 05:13 PM

I hate baseball, as well as football. Come to think of it.. I don't like any sports on TV, but extreme type sports. Oh, but I do enjoy watching Golf.

Brother Bilo 09-25-2007 05:21 PM

Baseball is a slow game, that's for sure. But, if you understand the aspects of how the game is really played, it's not boring. The announcers do make up a big part of how entertaining the game is though. The Diamondback announcers are the worse. Thom Brennamen and Mark Grace put together one of the most boring and monotone commentator duo out there. It sucks. But listen to a Brewers game. Bob Uecker is all kinds of entertaining, makes the game more fun.

MandyBlake 09-25-2007 05:45 PM

i totally agree with you.
i never got into watching it.

yumma 09-25-2007 05:55 PM

baseball not so fast/dynamic game as basketball or hockey... good for a sleeping :)

Bird 09-25-2007 07:03 PM

Baseball is so boring.

RB_Jake 09-25-2007 07:15 PM

I love baseball and watch it almost every night. I had to buy the MLB package so I could follow certain teams. Yankess vs Red Sox, has to be the best rival in sports. Others can agree that Texas vs OU or Michigan vs Ohio State or Raiders vs Chiefs and the list could go on. Yankees and Red Sox get my vote. I could watch baseball every day during the season, errrrr wait, I do:thumbsup

TSGlider 09-25-2007 07:23 PM

I watch just about every yankee game. Since i'm out of the broadcast area i've got to pay directv some loot every year for the privilige. Baseball is like no other sport on the planet. You can have the greatest team on the planet, and on any given day you can get pounded by the worst team in the league. The closer you look, the more exciting it becomes. There are so many subtle things that go into every pitch you just get swept up in it...and there are long stretches of time when you're on the edge of your seat, barely breathing for minutes at a time, holding your breath on every single one of those pitches...and the plays at the plate...and those tight pitching duels...and on and on. There's just nothing like it under the sun. Glorious stuff.
