Apendicitis sucks

I had to be taken to the ER on friday at noon and then deal with a 6 hour waiting time and then 1 hour for some insurance bullshit. Then they told me the doctors thought I had apendicitis and that they needed to run some tests. 3 more hours right there.

Of course by the time I got to the Operating room the freaking thing was about to burst. Thatīs what kills you.

Now I canīt eat any solids till wednesday.I havenīt had a proper meal since last thursday.

Itīs the first time Iīve ever been operated on too.

The only good thing about all this was all the care I got from the unexplainable amount of hot nurses in that hospital. It was truly amazing...

I know most of you dont care but I needed to vent since the effects of the painkillers are starting to fade :winkwink:

thats fucked. I had mine taken out when I was 17 and I was molested by the nurse. I pretended I was still under while she squeezed and fondled my twig and berries. Overall it was a great experience:thumbsup

I was reading the other day how there is a phobia of Appendicitis and there is actually a lot of people who show up to emergency rooms scared that they have one, when its just gas or something.

At first I thought it was a bad digestion, some food poisoning or something. I actually only found out it was apendicitis after almost 18 hours of moderate pain hehe...

Wishing you a smooth recovery. Do you get to keep it and put it in a jar howard hughes style? That would be neat. You could use it as an ice breaker when you host house parties :thumbsup

I had one a month ago in Buenos Aires. Went to a hospital and they wanted US$ 4000 up front CASH. It was Saturday 1am. I asked the guy where the fuck did he expect me to get that kind of money at that time. The hospital wouldn't take credit cards!

I went back to the doctor, who was VERY hot, and told her:

"Doctor, you have two choices: you either get me a chopper and fly me to Montevideo where they can operate on me immediately or I can go, buy a weapon on the street and get crazy. I'll go to jail, but without my appendix, John Q-style."

When she saw that I wasn't fucking around, she told me to wait in the waiting room. She came back like half an hour later and said: "These are the guys that are going to operate you, but in another hospital". I was like: "Ok, lets move it."

They took me to this luxurious hospital and I had a huge room with a plasma TV, Internet access, etc. Hell, I even had this nurse who would put on my slippers for me haha

I was operated by laparoscopic surgery and walked out of there like 12 hours later. I was able to eat normally the next day.

My insurance paid for everything.

Thanks for the wishes Cunning!

My surgery cost around $7000. Considering the minimum wage here in Venezuela is around $300 I did a lot of thinking about the people that cannot pay for insurance and have to rely on the very deficient government healthcare. And I still had to wait almost 8 hours to get seen by a doctor. The nurses told me they didn´t know what the hell was going on but they had never been that busy in ages.

I actually went to one of the most expensive hospitals around here because it was the closest one to my place and my dad was freaking out watching me all curled up in to a ball to ease the pain. He had to drive me because I could barely walk, let alone drive.

I also had laparoscopic surgery. Three small incisions and I can walk right now but with a bit of pain. The doc said I cannot eat any solids till wednesday to prevent any indigestion that might make the incisions open up.
I´ll see if I can get the doctor to give me a copy of the video they made during the operation cos I totally forgot to ask them for the apendix in a jar hehe...
