Dreams, nightmares or nothing? What do you have? What do you think they mean?
I have heard many writers say that they sometimes get inspiration from either their dreams or nightmares. I have had a few myself that would have probably made for a good story or maybe even a movie script. :thumbsup
I know of people that say they dream every night and can remember most of them. I myself tend to not have or don't remember most of my dreams. Then there are those who say they can make themselves dream about certain things which I think is bullshit. :upsidedow My question has always focused around "What do your dreams actually mean?" and to this day I have no answer. They are just too random in both content and frequency for me to be able to decide anything. How about you? Dreams, nightmares or nothing you can remember? If you do dream then what do you think they mean??? _ |
I can usually remember all my dreams. I've noticed I have "weirder/scary" dreams when I am stressed out. And I've had my fair share of crazy business plans in my dreams too haha
Like you said, some of my dreams are Oscar-worthy, you don't make this shit up when you're awake... |
During certain times of my life I couldn't remeber any dreams when I woke. Now, I have dreams nearly every night. They are never good or bad. They are often strange however.

I don't remember most of my dreams, although I keep a notepad by my bed and write down any cool concepts if I remember them (the notepad is actually there to help me sleep, since if something is keeping me awake, I write it down to deal with it in the morning, and that helps me sleep).
It is extremely rare for me to have a nightmare. Years ago, when I had a cold, I took Nyquil a few nights, and it not only put me out, but caused me to have nightmares. I quit taking Nyquil after that. ADG |
i get all three.
if i have a bad dream i wake up feeling HORRIBLE. not tired horrible, but sad and upset, horrible. |
Nothing I can remember.

If you're not remembering them, all that means is you're not remembering your dreams.
Everyone dreams. It's part of the natural sleep cycle. And though I doubt with 100% accuracy, people can also make themselves dream about certain things. It's your mind - why do you feel that ability would be out of your reach? There's also lucid dreaming where the dreamer realizes it's a dream, and affects his enviroment as he/she wishes... I've done that a handful of times in my own life. Generally, I think that dreams are just a subconscious echo of our lives... and outside our own psychology, they generally don't mean much. There are exceptions, but those are very few. |
I have heard that everyone does actually dream every time they are asleep but I have never been able to influence the type of dream that I have. When I was younger I would go to bed purposefully thinking about meeting girls in my dreams and trying to score but it only seemed to happen a couple of times.
Lately the only dreams I can remember seem to be where I am in a location that I am not familiar with and spend the whole time trying to figure out how to get out of that place my dream is occurring. There are also the dreams of being chased but I never seem to know who it is that is chasing me. Some people swear that it's what you eat or drink shortly before you go to sleep that influences the type of dream you will have. Again I can't establish any patterns based on consumption either. One thing that I seem to remember though is that any time the dream involves hooking up that I ALWAYS wake up right before it happens...:Oh crap _ |
I think they are just collections of conscious and sub conscious thoughts coming to "life" so to speak. They say more about my fears and about me than having some phillosophical interpretation.

Nothing...I either smoke too much weed to remember any of my dreams, Or I don't dream. I imagine my mind wonders, But who knows where to :P
