How do people still stick with go daddy with all the negative shit i hear about them? one slap on the wrist was more than enough for me to jump ship a long time ago. if it's not one thing it's another.

In regards to your question, I have no idea.....

It's because you get 1000 Gig of bandwidth for 6.99 a month. Is there someone cheaper because I'd like to switch too.

You can't transfer .WS domains KlenTelaris, it has nothing to do with GoDaddy.

The Registry (Global Domains International) rules apply to all Registrars.
The GDI FAQ page: http://www.website.ws/faq/index.dhtml

All the negative shit I've heard about them has ended up being the webmaster's fault (mostly using false whois information), or some other entity's. I can't recall anything sticking.

Been using GoDaddy for awhile now - no complaints.

Me too, years. This thread is a great example of a GoDaddy "issue".

Lucky you:Oh crap

Their support has improved from a couple years ago when it was like calling vindictive teenagers.:1orglaugh Putting "back order this domain" in your whois didn't last long. I have some horror stories that go way beyond "false whois" ... "godaddy sucks" was showing up on google so much they bought the name godaddysucks.com:upsidedow

Seems to me they are getting better recently. All my registerfly domains got transfered over to them. I couldn't believe I was talking to the same people when I called support.:thumbsup

No, it's not:

Can I transfer my domain to another registrar?

No. Due to contractual agreements with our registrars it's not currently possible to transfer an existing .WS domain between registrars. Your .WS domain must be administered through the registrar used to originally register the domain.

The last time I tried to move a domain it was like pulling teeth. They wanted me to jump through hoop after hoop it was unreal. The used car salesman trying to change my mind on sales/support ( because they were the same place ) was really fucked :Oh crap

but that was awhile ago ...

I'm not a fan of GoDaddy, I'll be the first to admin this. However, I had more problems with NetSol, than I've ever had with GoDaddy, and even though they required letterhead (I lost a domain once with my email set to it, oops), they took care of things fairly fast.

Plus, being able to call up and speak to someone, day or night, is pretty damn nice.

It's hard to tell the difference between sarcasm and stupidity on this board, but your comment was in the vein of "no problems either." If you took it personally that I also used that, I apologize. :thumbsup

No, their support is pretty bad and their bandwidth allocation is some of the worst around and their main concern is hustling you to buy junk you don't need but still I don't know anyone cheaper so until someone can tell me someone who is, I'll stick with them too (accepting the fact that you get what you pay for).

I would never ever use them to create a sponsor site or any site with complicated scripting, but being an affiliate, my main goal is to get sufers to sponsers anyway so I don't really care what a smooth ride their having on my sites. In fact it probably works more for affiliates than against them.

i didn't know it was a problem

They're not depending on your goals. I'm basically an affiliate submitter, so I'm jumping on anyone offering 1000 Gigs a month of bandwidth at 6.99. I was paying 2 grand and up on other asshole sites that claim to have great support and really give nothing different in return.

On the other hand, if you have customers to answer to and expect quality service without downtime, I would never use godaddy. You're better off with smoke signals:winkwink:

WS Domains are not transferable between registrars.
