Bush asks another 195 billion for Iraq

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/2007092...2802f3e_1.html

for Iraq and Afgan wars

Quote:

Citing unnamed Pentagon officials, the newspaper said if President George W. Bush's spending request is approved, 2008 will be the most expensive year of the Iraq war.
Quote:

In 2004, the two conflicts together cost 94 billion dollars; in 2005, they cost 108 billion; in 2006, 122 billion, the paper said.

The new spending request is likely to push the cumulative cost of the war in Iraq alone through 2008 past the 600-billion-dollar mark -- more than the Korean War and nearly as much as the Vietnam War, based on estimates by government budget officials, The Times said.
and the dollar drops a couple more points

5 years of war and it keeps getting more costly, Iraqis have less electricity and water than under Saddam

Must be nice to ask for a couple hundred billion dollars every few months, and actually get it. Fuck.

arial 09-23-2007 01:40 AM

Or around 4mln students could receive $50k each for college or 80mln could receive decent health insurance for free for a year (these are rough estimates of course). Why not spend that money on a war that's been going no where for almost 5 years now instead.

2012 09-23-2007 01:40 AM

the least he could do is .... catch bin laden....

or even "I'm sorry we haven't caught bin laden" ...

what are the pluses here ? What the fuck ?

good point.
but in the future, it might be possible that another country would want to invade and fuck our healthy woman.

so, reach out and fuck everyone else instead.

Yet also swore to veto the children's insurance gap coverage thing that is expiring this year. Ya know for those kids who's parents do not make enough for private insurance yet are not poor enough for state insurance. They only needed like 6 billion to keep it going.

Whats the worst, the US can simply withdraw from Irak, there will be civil war, ethnic a religous genocide, and of course around 2 milions barrels of oil production will be destroyed as everyone will fight for it. If you remove such number from the world markets, the price per barrel could be around 150-200 bucks.

The current direct costs of war are around 0.5 trilions of dollars (non-direct costs are estimated much higher then this).
0.5 trilions of dollars could made this world much safer, if it was dedicated to energy efficiency and savings. Even lesser costs of oil, would shut up all those guys like Chavez, Putin and Ahmadinezad.

I see Bush as worst president of USA ever

peterk 09-23-2007 02:16 AM

yes, the only solution is to divide the country or to install there another dictator. Its unpossible to install democracy in Iraq.
If these idiots from US goverment read at least one book about Lebanon civil war before invasion to Iraq or talk to some US army leaders who were involved in Lebanon war, they would knew its unpossible to install democracy in such country like Iraq
Lebanon was before their civil war "democracy" too and it took a lot of effort to made democracy back there after civil war.

Oil baby

http://www.federalreserve.gov/genera...ifjpg/2_13.jpg

He is a representative, he is only after what 90% of American electors want: cheap oil.

It's not his fucking fault if oil production has peaked in Saudi Arabia and American consumers don't want to reduce their energy consumption.

Watch The End Of Suburbia for more info.

impeach the fuck already, when leaders do bad, they (have to) resign, take a cue from Japan. The US acts like they elect a monarch for 4 years instead of a president, he does not have to rule for 4 years.

That guy never stop to amaze me. Surely the republicans must have known him for years which also means they must have known his stupidity. Why nominate him in the first place then.

RIP Mandela...

fucked up indeed.he'll get the money?

SilentKnight 09-30-2007 09:45 AM

$195 billion - and still no national healthcare system for the Yankees.

Its been said the only reason George W. Bush hasn't been assassinated during his term is office - is because Cheney would end up president.

(shudder)

What's a majorly fuck'd up situation.

Oh well. At least Haliburton enjoys the lucrative profits. I wonder how the execs of that company sleep at night...knowing their livelihood is made at the expense and sacrifices of so many others (military, family of military AND taxpayers).
