VOIP free calls, no monthly fees, works with normal phones
|
HMm interesting

$400 for the hub.. fuck that
I bought a VOIP phone for $40 & skype unlimited for $29 for a year of unlimited calling anywhere in US & Canada. and fucking works great... |
Nasty article about ooma in business week. Seems that they get their local access by ripping off the phone companies. They get users in each city to install a local phone line and put in a hub to allow other users to connect to numbers local in that city. They do this to avoid the connection fees they would normally have to pay to other carriers.
Another doomed business model. |
Yeah, it's a way expensive.
Get a Skype Unlimited for 29 USD monthly. |
Vonage. $18 a month, including taxes. 500 minutes - which is a lot more than I need for my home line...
I could bump it to $29 as well (including taxes) and get unlimited. No set-up fees (and got a free router) quit any time & keep the hardware. I heard Vonage customer service lacks, but I've never had cause to use them - so, provided that keeps up, it's fine by me. Maybe, after two years, your link would save me money, but I'd rather stick with a company that has a proven business model for now. |
