What do you think of this processor for a laptop
AMD Turion and#153 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-66 (2.3GHz/1MB)
good Bad or ugly and why? |
I think thats the same I have in my laptop.. been very good so far. love this laptop... I hate working off of a desktop now...
|
Depends what you want it for and/or how brutally you treat your notebook.
For me, that'd be more processing power than I'd need.... and, considering I give mine a 1-year life-expectancy, that'd probably easily outlast the life of the laptop. I cheap out on laptops, as I just need a mobile computing presence, and not so much a mobile computing powerhouse. |
I need it for video and photo editing.
|
But that the same time I need for it to be mobile so hence no desk top

anyone else?

Well, I'm no processor guy, but, since you're lacking another answer...
I think that's AMD's top mid-class mobile chip, if I'm not mistaken... so I think it'd pretty much suit most of your needs.... unless you wanna pay the extra for a Dual or Quad Core (Intel chips generally have a bit more cache on their chips, which I'm sure would be handy in repetitive applications like video encoding, and editing)... just make sure you get something that's compatible with a mobile graphical accelerator, and get that, as well... like the GeForce 8400M, which was only a $100 upgrade when last I checked. And min 2 Gigs of RAM, of course. |
