Now that the Canadian dollar is at parity to the US

Will we finally see a drop in products we buy such as cars and electronic goods?:winkwink:

Will Dell.ca sell their stuff at the same price as Dell.com?
What about Bestbuy.ca vs Bestbuy.com?

PowerCum 09-20-2007 04:17 PM

No

Let me repeat....

No

Probably not.

Not for a while. I picked up a copy of businessweek today... 4.99US, 6.99 Canadian.

They are going to get a rather pointed letter from me about it. That sort of price gap made sense 4 or 5 years ago, but now? There is little they can do to justify it.

The only advantage for me right now is ordering car parts and stuff from the US, the prices are very competitive now as a result of all of this.

I know I'm heading to the States for another car

Elli 09-20-2007 04:33 PM

Yeah I asked that at a book store last year, since all the prices are printed directly on the covers. I asked if that price was still valid. The girl said yes, the store goes by the publisher's pricing. So now I just buy my books in the states.

I will put up a stink even though it will do no good if prices do not drop at least a bit cause of this.

Wonder what the news clerk would do if you hand him over 4.99 in US currency ...

I will try that.
