its not exactly the same but has a few similar features that you might be looking for, blogs organizer. It can be found at http://www.cheapestadultscripts.com/

Holy informercial feeling website, I'll take a peek at it.

I actually have ABP on a couple sites but apparently the license for ABP comes with a limited customer service contract, and it's not working for one of my sites. So I thought I'd go out in search of another program. May as well see what else is out there.

Can't go past the new improved rss2blog. Doesn't just do rss, can do multiple text / article pods / image inserts / html snippets - pretty much posts anything. The key to all these programs is to try and make your content as unique as possible :winkwink:

Good luck!

lol, trust me, nothing comes closer to blogs organiser, not to mention that the support is superb, I believe there's a demo, just download it and see for yourself

There is no limited support contract. I'm about to hit the sack but hit me up tomorrow and we can go over your problem or submit a ticket.

We just added some new features to ABP as well. Feedspinner and linkspinner so you may want to get the latest version.
I haven't made the announcement regarding the new features yet but it's been updated to the live release.

Some other really big news re features etc. is coming as well.

Heya Chio. I was told a couple times via the ticket system that my version of ABP is no longer supported. The only hint that I got of further assistance was if the link to upgrade to the stand-alone version, worked. Which the link that was sent to me in the ticket does work, and it's a more than fair price. I'm just searching out the competition as I like to be an informed consumer.

In no way am I trying to air out some dirty laundry or whatever, which is why i neither included many details in my original post and am not including all the details in this post either. Just shopping around.

I'm curious, does RSStoBlog have the feature that ABP has where it downloads the image in the post and then updates the link to feed off the image on your server in the new blog post?

I just don't want it hotlinking images from other servers.

The fact that RSStoBlog works with blog software other than that bloated piece of shite WordPress alone, makes it worth checking out for me.

MrVids 09-20-2007 12:57 PM

It would appear that ABP is still the best solution for me, so I'll be heading that way. Chio has reported that the failed support was due to an employee who is no longer with the company.

Glad to stay with your product Chio, as I said, I've been more than happy with the old ABP, looking forward to playing with the new one :).

Yes - rss2blog supports a load of different blogs. With WP you have to be v careful setting the fooker up otherwise your posts end up in about 6 different places - and then you have to mess around with the robots.txt file to try and make sure the bots don't get into your "protected" directories.

Not sure what you mean with the images - what I do is merge an rss feed (that may or may not contain images - always check the feeds are good), with ** original** content. If I want to merge a whole bunch of images I have already hosted on my site, just stick all the html you want to use in a txt file (perfect for random ad placement) and let the program do all the rest.
