Kid Nation - WTF!!!!

I both love and hate it - just like a true American show should be.

It has both the horribly right AND wrong in it. Perfect.

I have two kids myself and I would LOVE for them to do some of the stuff they do in the camp.

On the flip side, I would never make them do a lot of what is going on.

Perfect. It will FOR SURE be a hit.

mistergardener 09-19-2007 08:59 PM

amateurcanada 09-19-2007 09:00 PM

I love it LOL!

OY 09-19-2007 09:00 PM

It is on right now

OY 09-19-2007 09:04 PM

Oh boy, they just made CLASS DIFFERENCE between the kids. This should be interesting!

TondaB 09-19-2007 09:43 PM

I loved it! I even added it to my DVR:)

WWC 09-19-2007 09:52 PM

Very controversial show....

punker barbie 09-19-2007 09:54 PM

it was touching to see the girl call her mother and tell her she'd won 20k. it was too cute!

collegeboobies 09-19-2007 09:57 PM

Great show... I love it... amazing the kids chose the bathrooms over the TV

RevengeBucks_Monica 09-19-2007 11:19 PM

I missed it, dammit! I want to hear all about it.. .or perhaps I'll just find it on the net somewhere.

Centurion 09-20-2007 12:35 AM

Can tv stoop any lower than this program? I saw it..and, what parent in their right mind would EVER let their kid be on a program like this?

Especially the 8 and 9 year olds.

OY 09-20-2007 08:47 AM

I have to say, it is a show I will DVR too - damn, I am getting completely corrupted when it comes to TV - been in the US too long! lol

Tom_PM 09-20-2007 09:07 AM

Most parents send their kids of to some seedy hole in the woods "summer camp" every year and love doing it! What parent in their right mind would say no to sending their kids to Kid Nation to be on tv? hehe

They claimed on some news show this morning that there was a stunning lack of commercials during the show (which is true). While I figured it was just a good move for a premiere episode, they claimed it was due to lack of sponsors. I hope it doesnt get cancelled.

SykkBoy 09-20-2007 09:09 AM

I DVRd it, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet....Wednesday night is my bowling night...

bDok 09-20-2007 09:12 AM

watched it last night. really dug it. Season is being recorded now.

quality.

collegeboobies 09-20-2007 09:34 AM

I like it and fuck commercials... I wouldnt watch it with more commercials.

Matt 26z 09-20-2007 09:37 AM

I missed it. I would download it from a torrent site, but that would make me a very bad person.

Kimmykim 09-20-2007 09:39 AM

Apparently the show is lucky to be airing, it seems they broke just about every child labor law that exists in New Mexico.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh that's pretty funny

i don't know, i don't think there is much wrong with this type of show, and it really would help anyone that is involved with it

Are you sure? I thought they filmed it specifically in New Mexico because of the lax child labor laws there.

Drake 09-20-2007 10:25 AM

I haven't seen it. I thought the concept sounded interesting (Lord of the Flies type thing), but wasn't sure if it would be watchable. I'll try to check out an episode.

The thing that seemed strange to me is that there are kids of various ages there. In the real world, the oldest strongest kids would make up the rules and run the show. Is that what seems to be happening?

uno 09-20-2007 10:32 AM

The whole show seems so fucked up that I don't think I can miss it. I can't wait to see if they kill a chicken next week.

RP Fade 09-20-2007 10:34 AM

Damn I missed it...wife HAD to watch 'America's Next Top Model'

CynthiaB 09-20-2007 11:33 AM

I heard some of the kids were crying about missing their parents - I can't handle that stuff. I'll stick with America's Next Top Model.

OY 09-20-2007 11:37 AM

There are some amazingly stubborn and weird kids in the show. Actor wannabes and punks. Fun to watch.

Big_Red 09-20-2007 11:40 AM

i missed it. and i dont torrent. so will have to wait for the rerun i guess.

peterk 09-20-2007 11:46 AM

you guys made me curious about this show. I have to see it somehow :)

Way3 09-20-2007 11:46 AM

Great show! Can't wait to see where they go with it! :thumbsup

:1orglaugh sucks to have a wife. I mean, who could stomach a show like "America's Next Top Model". That has to be on par with The View or worse.

Mr Steele 09-20-2007 12:46 PM

This is one of the first network reality shows I could actually sit through, but will I tune in regularly? Not sure yet, I'll have to see what happens next week. WAYYY better than Idol or Survivor type bullshit IMO.....they're gonna make a mint off this show I think. all in all, I liked it

My friend actually works in casting for that show. This time around they avoided casting kids here in California because of the strict labor laws.

Or better yet, GET YOUR OWN DAMN TV! :1orglaugh

Porno Dan 09-26-2007 08:33 PM

CBS is going to get a ton of heat for Kid Nation

I can't believe that they just let a bunch of kids hold a chicken down and chop its head off.

Yes they did. But laws don't apply to celebrities and Hollywood.
