Whats the current view on people who steal affi data from company #1,
then take it to company #2?
Just wondering, I can't keep up with the hypocrisy these days. |
is this more retaliation?
or a serious question... and define steal... members and affiliate lists? emails? or just a rolodex of connects? honest to god info is one thing, but general gleened know how and whos who is another.. whats on the plate? |

hi guys... sounds serious, just commenting to bookmark this thread so i can check it later :thumbsup

IMO, the intellectual property, which in this case is the aff ID's and associated data belong to the company owning the site in which they signed up for. Any employee, former owner, parter , or otherwise, would be stealing if they knowingly took a copy of that information and used it for their own purposes. Pretty cut and dry.:2 cents:
|
However, I should add that if the intellectual property was collected BY the "employee, parter, etc." themselves as independent consultants while on contract with the "company" that the contact information (NOT sales data) could legally be retained by that independent consultant on the grounds that they are personal contacts and were gathered for that consultant's own business and shared with the "company" at the time of sale.:2 cents:
Again, IMO. Legally in a court there would have to be more information as to the circumstances, technique, and conditions of the gathering of that information. |

If I had an inkling of a doubt on my end I would never have even attempted to defame you. There are plenty of people here, some with bar raising companies that owe me well over that. it was never about the cash... Done about this. is this about your ole buddy or not? is this serious or are you attempting to bring out discrediting info upon another attempting to defame you? Or are you cleaning house where you are now? simple... im curious... Your questions are serious. See im keeping a poll on whats relative and whats chalked up drama... I have to know what to put in the report. I have a case of file folders here on GFY... you even have your own... right next to Juicy... Juicy's smells good... yours is just thick. Bark Bark |
well, I know we have had our member list jacked by 2 employees in the past, it sucks.. kind of the price you pay when you trust people... kind of why i dont trust anyone anymore in this business.
personally I dont agre with taking data from one company to the next, I dont mix businesses together, it tends to end up fucking things up in the end. however, if someone from company a fucked you, and you want to get even, then take it and sell it to company b ;) thats exactly what i would do!!! |

god damn man... cry about it..
you are involved in more drama then even me, man... at least when i had drama it was always for an amount over a few grand.. you're pissing and moaning, and involved in so much drama for amounts that are all under 50 bucks... get off the computer and start hustling already... unless you wanna hit 50 and be broke |
Trey you and I have been around a longtime...You also know that I know who got sued and who didn't.
You also know that I didn't mean to imply that you got sued by Ron, so let it go cause there is no shit to start here:thumbsup |
The current and all-time view is that they are thieves - they were thieves while employed by X company and probably stole more than data and can't be trusted with shit.
That said, it's obvious there is a lack of security in web-based businesses in that people can have complete access to large elements of data - and the adult industry is not alone. Talk has been cheap re data protection. A couple of months back I sat and watched a techie theif who supposed to be doing additional network installation - he elected to burn a few CD's for some reason which contained a large amount of gaming client data which would be worth a lot in the right hands. Obviously this was needed to install networks :pimp (He was intercepted and dealt with - so no harm done) |
