Ewan McGregor says no to Porno!

Ewan McGregor will not appear in 'Trainspotting' sequel 'Porno', because he doesn't like the book which it is based on.

I think it sounds cool, I'd def go see it.

Sarah_Jayne 09-19-2007 07:31 AM

Which is fair enough...I know a lot of people that didn't like Porno as much as Trainspotting.

tony286 09-19-2007 07:33 AM

Thats smart not just going for the money.

ShellyCrash 09-19-2007 07:49 AM

That sucks. I haven't read Porno, but I heard it did stink. Either way, they will probably still go ahead with making the film and it will be worse off without him in it. Shame, they should just leave it alone.

Porno says NO to Ewan McGregor!

I didn't care for Porno either...Trainspotting is one of my favorite books and I guess Porno just had a lot to live up to in my mind and just didn't quite make it...

Porno's funny, not much more, a reasonable read but nothing close to trainspotting.

Fuck Ewan McGregor everyone else from Trainspotting wanted to do it. He thinks he is too "Hollywood" now

If that means successful, then yes he is (Robert Carlisle isn't doing badly either). However, I seriously haven't heard one good review of Porno. Why should he do something he feels is substandard and risk ruining something he did so well?

koalat 09-19-2007 11:39 AM

I read Porno and thought that it was alright. Nothing compared to Trainspotting, but it was cool seeing what the characters were up to.

frostyimpressions 09-19-2007 11:54 AM

I haven't read Porno, but I have heard that it doesn't do justice to Trainspotting. He's probably right in turning the role down.

Hollywood Horwitz 09-19-2007 11:55 AM

Not many books/movies can compare to Trainspotting!
