And they're giving away samples, after I take one I stand there and pretend like I am thinking about buying some of whatever they just gave me.

Next time they give you a free sample, you should punt it across the store. Then stand there and say, "Hmm... That tasted pretty good!"

Haha, I do the same thing and ask some stupid question as if I'm interested. Of course it never fails, I always leave spending at least $300 when I just went in to buy a couple things.

I almost always take something of whatever they offer, enthusiastically asking for seconds then load up my cart with a couple boxes/bags/whatever and then a few aisles later just dump them and continue.
