Trent Reznor Says "Steal My Music"
a few months ago T.Rez commented about how his label is charging australian customers twice the standard amount for his latest disc. the reasoning? because he has "dedicated fans that are willing to pay any amount" according to his label.
During a concert last night, he told fans, '...Has anyone seen the price come down? Okay, well, you know what that means ? STEAL IT. Steal away. Steal and steal and steal some more and give it to all your friends and keep on stealin'. Because one way or another these mother****ers will get it through their head that they're ripping people off and that's not right.'" youtube |
hahahaha, love the comment
"Right on! Now go and make some music worth stealing" ROFL ain't that the truth man, he used to make some amazing music back in the day, now it seems like someone stole his brain and replaced it with a amateur song maker.....he shit is so boring and basic these days, it is totally missing that depressing edge it used to have |

I doubt anyone would even waste bandwidth stealing his music..

Trent can say that much more easily than most - he has made a ton of money, and continues to make a ton of money off of back catalog, radio airplay, and successful world tours. He "made it" so now a few sales lost aren't anywhere near as important to him.
Remember also, for every $20 album sale, he might only see $1 or $2. So his losses in the deal are way lower than everyone elses. He wouldn't be saying the same thing if he was on album 1, with a huge record company advance for recording hanging over his head, with every sale being the difference between being ass deep in debt and making enough money to eat pB&J sandwiches tomorrow. |
Yea yea yea.

If you have noticed downloading and stealing music is the biggest topic in the music business right now yet there are very few musicians that have actually come out against it. Most really don't care. They know they are going to get screwed by the record company, they are mostly interested in selling concert tickets and merchandise. |
after pretty hate machine they went to shit.
he went off the deep end |
