How the FUCK do you stop spam mail????????

I get LOTS of fucking spam mail for everything imaginable, all of which claim that I signed up to recieve their fucking spam (which I didn't) and if I click their little "unsubscribe" link, they sell my addy off to someone else...if I don't do anything, they continue to send me spam after spam. How do I stop these filthy little bitches?

Create a new thread titled: "REMOVE" and list your email
address in the message body.

theking 09-13-2002 03:26 AM

You don't. Make liberal use of the delete key. It is the only reliable spam fighter.

I saw somewhere last week a guide to how to avoid spam.
When you receive a SPAM mail. DO NOT READ IT. When you read it then the spammer know the address is valid and they will sell it to big international SPAM companies and the best thing to do is actually just to delete the mail.
Cannot remember where I saw it but pretty funny :thumbsup

quit complaining and suck it up you little bitch.

there are tons of anti-spam tools around, and most isp's have filters to handle it. just block the addies its being sent from.

Yep, if it is a html mail the spammer can verify that your mail is working. Also, remove me link is another way to do it.

WayPay-Kenny 09-13-2002 06:42 AM

About the only way would be, don't use email anymore.

Mail Filtering Service

I have been using these people.Since i started with them, spam is down at least 90% and the virus-laden mails 100%..
worth taking a look at..

Install CloudMark's SpamNet..

http://www.cloudmark.com/

This company was started by 1 of the original guys at Napster. These guys use the power of 60,000+ users to identify what is spam and what is not. The more people use it the more accurate it gets.

I used to get over 90 pieces of spam a day, now I only get something like 9-10... and no false positives.

It's free and it's a plugin for Outlook. It's by far the best filtering solution to Spam.

Click that fucking unsub link and unsub "[email protected]" (uce being unsolicited commercial email) then reply and CC the mail to "[email protected] ; admin@sponsorhost ; spam@sponsorhost ; abuse@sponsorhost" with a nasty little message.

I've noticed there is one hell of a lot less recurring spams coming in my box nowadays.. i dont know if the ftc does anything, or the sponsors are killing them, or the spammer just gets scared when he sees the email's i CC them back to, but it works.

the bonus is if that unsubscribe link is just confirming emails/harvester [email protected] is the *last* fucking email they want.

It makes my day when i do that.

STOP TRYING!

quit worrying about it, because you never will. clicking delete isnt very hard.

This in itself is considered spam. Infact the more people you send your complaint to the less likely anyone is to act on it.

The ftc does nothing, nor do most sponsors. You must be high if you think you made a difference.

Don't you think they filter all that stuff out? spam*, abuse*..

Try making money, its more productive.
