Saggy Pants will get you 6 months jailtime..

Quote:

TRENTON, N.J. - It's a fashion that started in prison, and now the saggy pants craze has come full circle ? low-slung street strutting in some cities may soon mean run-ins with the law, including a stint in jail.

Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine. A crackdown also is being pushed in Atlanta. And in Trenton, getting caught with your pants down may soon result in not only a fine, but a city worker assessing where your life is headed.
Now I dunno about you, but 6 months in jail is a little steep for just wearing a certain style of pants lol Thats completely Ridiculous!

worse than Iran, fucking pathetic. The names and photos of everyone in that town behind the law should be posted publicly and put on digg.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 09-18-2007 12:45 AM

they have been talking about this shit since I was a little kid. They need to just give it a rest.

dynastoned 09-18-2007 01:03 AM

sagging your pants is stupid but not as idiotic as trying to fine people or throw someone in jail for it.

ADL Josh 09-18-2007 07:14 AM

the majority of people that wear their pants low enough to where their whole ass is hanging out probably have a lifestyle that will end them up in jail anyway. i haven't seen anybody with that style that was actually an upstanding citizen. i definitely don't think people should be in jail for how they decide to dress, but if this law makes some of the "thugz" pull up their pants, than awesome!!

Scott McD 09-18-2007 07:16 AM

Good. It looks ridiculous anyway... :2 cents:

Kevin Marx 09-18-2007 07:24 AM

a law for it is a bit ridiculous... but its just stupid looking!!! When the only thing keepign your pants up is your boner, it's time to get a belt.

Tom_PM 09-18-2007 07:27 AM

Underwear is so named because they are worn under your clothes. The fact that society feels the need to make a law to teach people how to dress properly.. is unsurprising :(

Fletch XXX 09-18-2007 07:30 AM

Freedom doesnt mean a thing to people who support things like this.

This is fascist, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

However, as a Louisiana resident, its funny they do not name "one small Louisiana town" - i wonder why, perhaps because it doesnt exist.

Some Black councilman wanted to friend-up to white conservatives in the area and came up with the "lets arrest thugs with baggy pants" resolution, it was debated and denied - no one gets arrested for baggy pants here, nor do they fine you $500 for it.

We have Bourbon Street tits flashing all day, you can walk around public drinking beer, open containers were even allowed in cars until recently, you think we ticket people for baggy pants here?

BIG LOL

Fletch XXX 09-18-2007 07:38 AM

im sorry, they do name it, my bad...

"The penalty is stiffer in Delcambre, La., where in June the town council passed an ordinance that carries a fine of up to $500 or six months in jail for exposing underwear in public. Several other municipalities and parish governments in Louisiana have enacted similar laws in recent months."

never even heard of this place :1orglaugh

Fletch XXX 09-18-2007 07:39 AM

Delcambre is near Erath, there is about 15 people who live there :1orglaugh

DaddyHalbucks 09-18-2007 08:09 AM

The ACLU will love this.

abshard 09-18-2007 08:13 AM

Sometimes in the evening i walk to my mailbox in a tee shirt and boxers(they look like shorts), will that get me arrested or do i need to put some pants on over them to get me arrested?

teg0 09-18-2007 08:23 AM

its not in style anymore anyway.

GAMEFINEST 09-18-2007 08:27 AM

i wear shorts all the time ...whew

LiveDose 09-18-2007 08:36 AM

Geez it's about time we start getting serious about crime!

mistergardener 09-18-2007 08:52 AM

So..... skinny jeans is now legally in fashion.

MichelleB 09-18-2007 08:53 AM

Good, if I want to see your ass i'll be riding it

SykkBoy 09-18-2007 09:50 AM

I'm hoping for a law that makes it illegal to shop in a WalMart while wearing spandex pants....that are too sizes too small, especially when your ass is a 48 or wider...

vidvicious 09-18-2007 10:02 AM

Fuckin aye .. it's about time those guys got what they deserve ...

ever wonder where the style came from ? It wasn't from some designer that thought "three sizes too big woudl be so Cool" ... it actually came from the hood, Brothers would steele clothes that were too big to ensure that at the very least they can wear them.

born2blog 09-18-2007 10:05 AM

strange law if you ask me

Cassie 09-18-2007 10:08 AM

crack kills you know ;)

The Dawg 09-18-2007 10:41 AM

Another stupid ass law wasting taxpayers money!

G-Rotica 09-18-2007 11:02 AM

I'm torn...Part of me is thinking "Damn Nazis" the other part of me is thinking "It's about fucking time".

Angie77 09-18-2007 11:15 AM

I just read about this. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

nico-t 09-18-2007 11:16 AM

Land of the free :)

Drake 09-18-2007 11:16 AM

Showing off your undies could probably fall under public indecency.

But on the whole, this law is bound to fail. Even if regulating how people wear their clothes could theoretically be successful without fascism, it's not going to change the person wearing the clothes. If a "thug" wearing low jeans is a crappy citizen, he's going to be one even with his jeans worn properly.
