The lease fyi is no credit check, 10% down and 3-36 months term. You own the domain(s) at the completion of the lease.

here is a sample number for the 2 domains:

I'm no domain speculator but that looks like a pretty good way to hedge your bet!

Always thinking, Ev :thumbsup

Decent names, I bet they get some type-ins.

Don't want to mess the deal but, the eu domains are completely under the jurisdiction of european union, therefore if the legislation of any member country of EU finds any domain name against its legislation - it will be confiscated from the owner and not available to register again.

We have and had a couple of nice .eu domains but some of them are already gone :2 cents:

I don't think it should be the case of transexual.eu though, as far as it's a regular terminology (maybe unless Turkey joins EU :))

But in general .eu domains are not too adult friendly.

Here is the citation:

Article 18

Improper registrations

Where a domain name is considered by a Court of a Member
State to be defamatory, racist or contrary to public policy, it
shall be blocked by the Registry upon notification of a Court
decision and shall be revoked upon notification of a final court
decision. The Registry shall block from future registration those
names which have been subject to such a court order for as
long as such order remains valid.

You can also check more here at:

EUR ID

:2 cents:

That would be discrimination in this case however. The domains Transexual.eu and transexuals.eu are not defamatory and as long as they are used for the benefit of the community, rather than to offend transexuals, then there is no problem. The domains have actively been used in commerce since their acquisition as well.

Interesting comments, but I think in this specific case, it is not an issue.

hi Carlos- quick question, what .eu domains of yours did eurid block?

Well as I said, I don't see an issue right away in yours particular case.

Let me check for the banned domains:

- bitches.eu
- bullshit.eu (bullshit)
- fisting.eu (kind of understandable but the domain would be something, especially for the german market :)) )
- porn.eu
- porno.eu
- sexcam.eu

(it's an unofficial list that i just found in an old excel)

thanks- how long after you acquired the domains above did it take for eurid to ban the domains? that must have stung. last question- i presume you got those by making use of the sunshine period prior to public reg's? if so, it seems really whacked that you could get those in the first place if they were going to be a problem.

Right, basically it was this pre registration period and there was some reseller involved in it with that we had some trouble afterwards as far as I remember, also I guess those domains were stripped off immediately with the public registration (haven't handled this myself..).

If you check: fisting.eu or bitches.eu, you may see an example of how such an EU acquired website looks like..

"bullshit" is a registered trademark of a German based company, so someone should have checked prior to domain registration.

But what's even more interesting is that, as far as I just checked, porn.eu is now an active website registered in Holland...

the site is promoting a porn tradeshow and selling adult dvd's. the others have wiki pages, but the porn.eu is a weird one.

http://www.adreu.eurid.eu/adr/decisi...ispute_id=2814

It says the transfer from the DUtch guy to a Czech complainer was denied because p&rn/porn is not a valid trademark?

Didn't read it all very well...
