She wasn't censored... she was just rattling on and on long past the time allowed for acceptance speeches, they tried to bring up the music a little bit to encourage her to get it over with, and she kept babbling on.

If she wants to make a political speech, she should call a press conference and see who bothers to show up. Hijacking an awards show for you own political motives is just shit. I hope the Emmy people remember NOT to invite her next time around.

She was censored for saying god damnit - you can't say that on TV. It had nothing to do with the politics. Kathy Griffin was censored for her religious jokes and there was a third black out that I haven't figured out yet.

I'm pretty sure it was also because she said god****, they let her keep her anti-war comment but cut her once she said god.

imho, it was Fox's job to broadcast the event... not censor it.

Actually... now that makes sense... they kept cutting to an outside picture throughout the broadcast - cutting people off, jokes short, etc... it wasn't just Sally Field that was censored.

That's rediculous that Fox would censor the event to such an extent. I hope they never win a bid for an Academy event again.
