Digital Camera Reviews - Low to High quality

Ive seen quite a few posts over the last little while about which digital camera to get, well hopefully i will solve EVERYONE's questions/concerns/comments with one website.

http://www.dpreview.com

No, this is not a Double Penetration review site but a Digital Photography site!

hopefully this will be useful.

Agree... great site, spent alot of time looking over cameras there... just trying to convince myself to spend the money to get the new Fuji S2, I have an F100 and a bunch of Nikon lenses already...

Well... dpreview is a good site, but if you want to compare photos: photosig.com is much better. And: If you want to shoot nude girls, don't care about the dpreview site. This site and it's reviews are made for people who want to shoot landscapes, nature, holiday pics. Some of the best rated cameras are not good for shooting photos for this business. It has something to do with the skin colour... for example: The best rated Sonys produce a very bad skin colour (if the model has a light skin)...

If you really like the Fuji i would suggest selling the lenses but that would be more money than the cost of the camera involved. I would stick with Nikon since them and Canon make the best digital cameras along with lenses.

I agree, I'm still using a Sony FD95 (Until I can afford a Nikon D100) which is a decent enough camera but skin tones tend to come out a little pale with lighter complexions. Thank God for Photoshop! I mean uh, thank God I'm good at lighting!:winkwink:

My Canon D30 works beautifully, my friend has the next model up (newer version of the d30) and is quite impressed. You need the right kind of lighting to get pictures to correctly reproduce everything correctly, and lots of it!

Yup. If I wasn't such a Nikon Nut I'd get a D30 in a heartbeat! What kinds of lenses do you use? Yay! Another lighting guru! So do YOU ever get requests for pics that are not so "Professional" looking? Oh yeah I almost forgot, since I started using Photoflex soft gold reflectors, the skin tones in my pictures has improved TEN fold!

@notjoe: Nothing against the professional digital cameras like Nikon D1, D100, Canon D-30, D60... and, and, and... Those cameras are made for content shooting, BUT a lot of people want to use the chaeper digitals to produce content. Cheaper means 1000-1500 US$. In this price range the reviews of dpreview don't show what camera is good for shooting nude girls. So what to do...? Ask photographers in this forum or compare the pictures on photosig.com ...

The Fuji S2 is actually a Nikon mount :o)

And is VERY good with skin tones, and can be bought for about $2k USD...

Has Firewire shooting capability ( tethered to a laptop ) and 2 slots for Microdrive so you can have 2GB of storage....

Sweeeet.... :thumbsup :thumbsup
