If you pay to acquire a site that already has content, traffic, a billing program, and members (in that order of importance) then you'd be on the ground running.

Well ok lets talk about content obviously the best place to get exclusive content is to shoot it yourself but what are some other options if you dont have this open source?

Don't bother as a newb you will just be wasting your money period do you really think you can compete with all the vod sites out there in todays market with a 10 year old paysite effort.Whatever cash u have it won't be nearly enough dont believe me go ahead and waste your money.

If you're new to the biz jumping right into starting a pay site is probably not worth your time... chances are you'll spend way more than you make.

Forget the hard work bit the first thing he should be aware of if he's not is the amount of vod sites out there and what they offer he will need a fortune to compete for a start before anything else.

If you really want to start a paysite, pick some rare microniche you can get content for. Do research to make sure you understand the niche, nothing worse than content that's "off topic".

You can't beat your competitors with bigger, established sites and more money at their hands in popular niches/mainstream porn, but there are some CCBill sites I know converting and retaining very well with little content and monthly updates.

You may not buy a Porsche from your first years income, but you'll get a solid ROI this way, without too much to investment upfront and too much risk.

it's not easy dude, but to start buy content. I made the mistake of shooting my own and wasted well over 5k doing so. With that 5k I could have bought enough to launch something decent. Now I'm stuck doing advertising only to build back up. Try starting out with a blog and get a feel for the industry first before jumping into the game.
