Well the pool guys are closing it but it still sucks. It means the Summer is over here in NY and I'm going to miss it. I've eaten dinner at least 5 nights a week out my the pool for the past 2 months and now I'll be moving back in :(

Please Help cure my sorrow buy sending your traffic to www.satancash.com so i can buy a winter home in the sun :)

That's right for just a few sales a day you can put me back out by the pool in either Cali for Fla. Please help today:thumbsup

I close mine on the 24th of this month.. what a sad day.

I have it up to 98 degreed right now even though it's sixty something outside so we're going to swim with the kids this afternoon :)

Nikki_Licks 09-16-2007 09:22 AM

Damn. There is some strange weather going on. My mother in law lives in Chicago and her temps have been real strange.
Today we are going to toss some Rib-eyes on the grill, pound some brewskis and do some floating the pool.:thumbsup

Our temps are still around 90-102. I guess I better enjoy it as much as I can, because it won't be long before it starts getting cold.

RayVega 09-16-2007 09:55 AM

Yep, summer's over bro. :(

Is it me or does the summer get shorter each year? It sucks either way. I feel your pain.

I keep mine about 82-84 all summer but the last two weeks I've had it up to about 86 and its been great. I maybe cutting the season a bit short but its the only time the guys could schedule me in unless i left it open till the end of the month. I'm all ready seeing leaves and didn't want to deal with the mess so i had it done. I'm very sad :( but I'll still BBQ and sit out on the deck :)

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-16-2007 10:10 AM

it sucks, dude here its been like 80-90, even 100's for like weeks, then the next day its been highs, 55 out, its a harsh change... :(

Fap 09-16-2007 11:55 AM

my pool is still open in ny :thumbsup

borked 09-16-2007 02:43 PM

huh? What does "closing a pool" entail?

Just throw some of those floating ball thingies in to allow the water expand if it ever gets freezing in the winter, throw the cover across it to stop leaves, and then turn the filter off.

Next spring reverse, but chuck in the chlorine to kill al the gook and leave for a week before turning on the filter.

You mean you drain yours? What a waste of water!

Deej 09-16-2007 02:51 PM

Pete-KT 09-16-2007 02:56 PM

My pools is a 18x38 in-ground with a heater. they lower the water below all the outputs (2 returns / 2 stair jets / 1 cleaner jet for the robot ) then they blowout all the lines so they don't freeze and crack over the winter. they put anti freeze in the lines just to make sure any water missed don't freeze and shock the water in the pool so it stays clear over the winter. they disconnect the pump motor and put it in the shed. then open the DE filter and clean it all out other wise it hardens like concrete over the winter and then put the filter drum in the shed. they shut off all the gas to the heater and wrap it in plastic. then they install the looplock cover. it all takes them about 2-3 hours and cost me about $300

CuriousToyBoy 09-16-2007 06:24 PM

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ah aha

Come move in with me Mikey.

Australia is a lovely place to live.

Yeah, same here. It was only 65 degrees here tonight but I got to hang with the kids in it for a few hours, the temp in the pool was actually an even hundred degrees. Can't wait to see my gas bill for September! lol

The state of Arizona was designed around the pool....well that and A/C.

Just don't look at getting one during the summertime if your house doesn't come with one though as the price tag will more than double.

Violetta 09-16-2007 11:35 PM
