IE vs. Firefox ....

I'm curious how many of us are using Firefox or another browser instead of IE. Please post what you are using...and if you have the extra 10 seconds post why. Thanks.

dav3 09-15-2007 04:51 PM

FF, because I like the ability to add the useful plug ins.

I don't like the way that IE implemented the tabbed browsing. If you try to middle click home, or other buttons outside of the main browsing window, it won't work like it does in FF.

Vick! 09-15-2007 04:58 PM

FF .. all the way.

First because of plugins stuff, second its more secure and crashes less then retard IE. Also, IE is targeted more by the trojan and shit makers...

slapass 09-15-2007 05:00 PM

firefox ... bump

Donfoolio 09-15-2007 05:03 PM

I use seamonkey because it is firefox but with a html editor and mail all in 1 program, I think it is great. I dunno why other webmasters don't use it. Anyone else? :321GFY

marcjacob 09-15-2007 05:11 PM

IE but i find most webmasters choose Fire Fox. I dont like the way it loads (mainly the way images appear while its loading). I have OCD and that fucks me up. Shame because it seems like the better browser :(

who 09-15-2007 05:12 PM

Btw Netscape's new browser is fucking awesome. You can render pages as FF OR IE, which I find VERY useful.

tomud 09-15-2007 05:14 PM

FF !

[ Nate ] 09-15-2007 09:31 PM

Like the input everybody! I've never heard of seamonkey and I didn't know netscapes new browser rendered both. Learned something new, glad I posted this. :)

woj 09-15-2007 10:22 PM

Lonny 09-15-2007 10:25 PM

FF all the way :thumbsup

martinsc 09-15-2007 10:44 PM

ff for me, i use IE only for testing my sites....

DWB 09-16-2007 12:43 AM

FF!!!

I have a Firefox sponsorship and they keep me stocked with free browsers, so it makes sense for me to use them.

Cyber Fucker 09-16-2007 02:44 AM

I use IE6.0, FF, and Opera

SuzzyQ 09-16-2007 09:52 AM

FF. I think IE still has the default homepage still on it. I Haven't used IE in months.

Angie77 09-16-2007 10:17 AM

I was using Firefox because of the tabbed browsing and the fact that it hardly crashed. I know IE now has tabbed browsing but it still crashes and I hate it.

ProducerCashDave 09-16-2007 10:19 AM

Firefox all the way

Neveena 09-16-2007 11:15 AM

Firefox :)

Horny Dude 09-16-2007 11:21 AM

One more bump for FF. But I still use IE for some task.

Fap 09-16-2007 12:02 PM

Firefox for the win

EthnicLover 09-16-2007 01:08 PM

100% FireFox! Internet Explorer is a plague on this Internet land. Most people use IE because it's the default browser on their PC (I use a Mac, but that's another discussion) and aren't aware that other browsers even exist.

Let's not even get into Web Standards compliant browsers and the importance of standards.

Oh yeah the plug ins/add ons are incredible as well, especially the Web Developer Toolbar and SEOpen Toolbar.

D 09-16-2007 02:41 PM

FF. One less Microsoft product that I'm forced to use.

RedShoe 09-16-2007 02:54 PM

There is a guy on here, I won't mention any names but he goes by SetTheWorldOnFire, he still uses IE.. I don't think we should hold that against him as he is a good personal friend of mine.

KILL_FRENZY 09-16-2007 03:04 PM

firefox for sure :thumbsup

WZRogeR 09-16-2007 03:18 PM

I prefer FF as well - cant get infected, cant see popups, don't see ads. Used IE once by mistake and surfed around and got inflected in 30 seconds.

digifan 09-16-2007 04:08 PM

Firefox is addictive ;)

Actually that's not correct. FF has lots of holes an it CAN be infected. However it's still much safer than IE.

Opera is even more safe BTW, but... it supports torrents :winkwink:

HighEnergy 09-16-2007 04:36 PM

≈ Firefox 100% ≈

IE6/7 and Opera only to check code rendering during design.

Penthouse Tony 09-16-2007 05:24 PM

FF less crashes

gandalfuy 09-16-2007 07:46 PM

FF !!

minusonebit 09-16-2007 08:46 PM

There is no other browser except Firefox.

SuzzyQ 09-16-2007 09:48 PM

Another nice thing about FF is the restore session feature if it crashes.

Spunky 09-16-2007 10:14 PM

IE and Opera..

Matt 26z 09-16-2007 10:31 PM

No problems with IE here aside from Flash crashing every so often. Never had those problems before Adobe bought Macromedia.

Thurbs 09-16-2007 10:49 PM

firefox, searchstatus and adblock with the HOSTS file trick keeps my surfing pretty clean

jaromir 09-16-2007 11:06 PM

FireFox addons rocks. And the stability is the best.

You're mistaken.

There is more than one.

Hence the poll option of this thread.

HOSTS file trick? Please elaborate, if you don't mind.

Roberto 09-16-2007 11:18 PM

Opera for the last 3+ years, just trying using firefox from 2.0+ since they got the huge memory use shit sorted out, 1.5 sucked ass big time. :2 cents:

[ScreaM] 09-16-2007 11:25 PM

I like FF. Uses lesser mem than IE.

Who the hell voted for IE ??

calibra 09-17-2007 12:05 AM

Avant Browser :thumbsup

Xplicit 09-17-2007 12:27 AM

I have the latest FF and IE and I use them sometimes.

....Ready for the shocker?

Netscape 7.2 (several years old)! So much faster then both FF and IE, at least for me.
