These social sites serve two purposes for your real life friends...

1. They want to see your photos, hot photos.

2. They want the contact info of that hot friend of yours.

Im 19 and I love it and my mum asked me about it facebook and i told her what it did and she just raised her eyebrows (in a way like are you a loser) suggesting that I should just go out and talk to people.

I dunno, I love facebook chating with my friends and looking at our party and holiday snaps and stuff.
But I think if your maybe older than 30, then stick to your guns and say no, because it may be a loser type of thing to have.

Nothing wrong with not having one. millions of people don't realize they are a product, and aren't protecting their privacy.

About 80% of people I know under 25 have an account. About 10% of people I know under 35 have an account.

I love Facebook. It let me get back in touch with a great long lost childhood friends and tons of old classmates.

I really don't get the facebook hype.

Don't have one and no plans on getting one. Started myspace accounts and never used them and didn't see the point. Friends seem to believe they are building contacts which always gives me a chuckle.

this depends who you hang out with, I dont have a facebook, never will have a social site, and nor does my wife - dor do anyone I hang out with.
