Bush for permanent presence in Iraq

It's all over the news.

If this happens, it will be very unsafe to be American around the world. He will give terror organizations the best tool for recruitment.

dav3 09-13-2007 02:35 PM

Bush should move there to supervise things.

Matt 26z 09-13-2007 02:43 PM

The US is already constructing the largest embassy in the world in Iraq:

We are not going anywhere.

Tempest 09-13-2007 06:26 PM

The US can't leave now... Things were "stable" over there with Sadam and now they're not... Drives me crazy that so many americans want to pull out and the dems are all over it.

_mC_ 09-13-2007 06:28 PM

We have to build our bases to launch our attack on Iran and Syria, duh...

Didn't you watch Zeitgeist? :upsidedow

After Shock Media 09-13-2007 06:42 PM

Bush and Cheney both know the office will shift next year and the Republicans will loose the white house. They are just trying to keep everything just stable enough so that it is the new renters responsibility all the while if your against the effort your not supporting our troops crap to keep the Democrats in check until the election. They know and will pass the buck on this and many other problems such as the bail outs and such.

Everyone who can say it military wise who is being honest knows damn well what is up there. It is a civil war and without the rest of the Middle east stepping up and cutting up Iraq, this shit will never stop. Keeping our troops there is just killing them and playing games, pop up here they move over there.

I love the way he keeps talking about his legacy is tied to Iraq. How many soldiers need to die so he can keep his legacy. It's already sealed. He is by far the worst president this country has ever had and probably will ever have.

The whole world can see that it's a lost cause, but this idiot keeps up the same old shit of we just need more time.

Yep pretty much exactly what's going on. He keeps trying to tell everyone in public that it's going great over there. So that way if the Dem's win the next election, they can just blame them.

It's the same BS over and over again.. This is The United States of Amnesia.

The Republican's ran non stop smear campaigns against Clinton claiming he "cut and ran" after the Somalia deal. Yet at the time, it was the Republicans whom bitched up a storm bashing Clinton because he didn't pull out that instant. Clinton stuck with the already planned withdraw, but that wasn't good enough for the Republicans back then and their stupid ass simple minded Republican base buys it hook line and sinker.

Also the Republicans seem to have Amnesia in regards to Ronald Reagan's tough line on middle east terror. What did Regan do after the Marine barracks bombings back when he was president? He fucking cut and ran, he pulled our troops out. Yet Ronald Reagan is like a Jesus Christ Superstar for those stupid fucks.

Always thought that will be one hell of a bang when it explodes - and probably first in line for demolition. It's just..... well, too arrogant Matt and not exactly "endearing" the Iraqi people or other nations in the area.

I hope they aren't using our Iraqi 'friends' to help in the construction.

Hope that Iraq will become more secure next months and all will be over someday.

Pigs flying?
Monkeys coming out of my ass?
George Bush Jr. Memorizing and then repeating Hamlet without messing up?
North Korea and South Korea making nice and clearing their borders?

Pick one.

Bush Borrowed More Than All Previous Presidents Combined, Group Says
Quote:

The Treasury Department stated: ?from 1776-2000, the first 224 years of U.S. history, 42 U.S. presidents were loaned a combined $1.01 trillion from foreign governments and financial institutions, but in the past four years alone, the Bush administration borrowed $1.05 trillion?.
That was in 2005 btw :winkwink:

Wow, he's probably doubled that in the last 2 years too. Bush has, most likely, permanently screwed America over. :disgust

AGS-17 09-13-2007 11:36 PM

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Meeting Tuesday with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, President Bush renewed his pledge to assist Baghdad in building a democracy and to help the fledgling government defeat insurgents.

kane 09-13-2007 11:59 PM

This is no news. We have military bases in just about every country we have ever fought with. We have bases in Japan and Germany and Italy. You can tell Bush's plan basically is to hold the course and let the next president deal with his mess this way he looks less bad. If the next president pulls people out and it all goes to hell Bush can say, "I told you so." and if the next president stays in Iraq and things get better he can say the same thing. The only thing that could hurt him more is if the next president pulls out the troops and things suddenly get better. Then he will probably say, "we won. I started it and it ended just how I planned."

Beyond Iraq he's still a crap President. Before 9/11 he was on his way out and saved by it.

Will the shame of Iraq last as long as the shame of Vietnam?

The shame of Bush will live on for longer than both. The day of reckoning for the dollar is coming and then the doubters about Bush will know his true worth. I'm thinking of covering my study with $1 bills, it's cheaper than wall paper. :1orglaugh

George W. Bush will go down in history as the worst president ever.

Cassie 09-14-2007 05:51 AM

this is great and it was taken from this article: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/...ech/index.html

" 'We believe this is a war of good and evil and we must win ... even if it cost the life of our own son. Freedom is not free,' " Bush said.

** from the parents of a solider in iraq**

with that being said, and our govt not realizing that you cannot for a democratic state in an area of religious and dictatorship unrest (it's been that way for centuries and will continue that way until the end of time), what makes this fight - the one that our troops are fighting for and dying for - any different than the extremists who are fighting and dying for the almighty JIHAD?

freedom has never been free and i agree with that. BUT, shouldn't our fight be with those who actually attacked us? shouldn't we be ending the lives of those that killed 3k americans on our soil for no logical reason? maybe i shouldn't be thinking common sense here.

Bruce_Miller 09-14-2007 06:01 AM

Don't forget, this war has been a lot about Haliburton (Cheney's company) making money hand over fist. So it's in their best interest to keep this going as long as they can to continue to fill their pockets with the blood of our troops. As a 10 year Army vet myself, I can't even begin to tell you all how pissed off that makes me.
