how to built a mainstream forum traffic
 

i'm in the process to built a mainstream (french canadian tv oriented ) forum using vbulletin do you have some advice to make this forum a success ?

I forget where I read the article, but these days.. unless you have a minimum of $6mill, you can't drive traffic to forums.

Unless you have a traffic source of your own, it is extremely difficult to get a forum off the ground.

modrewrite every link so search engines will like it, make it fully opened so search engines can crawl it, make there subforum with actual topics what people are looking for, make there fake posters who will post interesting informations, tell to your friends to bump interesting topics, put top10 topics on homepage, make there contests where people can win something small ... thats all i think that can work ... but im a newbie and those are only my :2 cents: wish you best with your sites!
