Football Fans: Patriots Coach Bill Belichick suspected of cheating
 

Pretty serious accusations flying about Bill Belichick taping the opposing teams sidelines. He has said it was an "interpretation" of the rules. Here is a brief synopsis:

NFL security confiscated a video camera and tape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on Sunday when he was working on the New York Jets' sideline during New England's 38-14 victory. The league has confirmed that it is investigating whether the Patriots were taping the Jets' defensive coaches as they signaled to players on the field.

However, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Goodell has already determined that the Patriots have violated league rules when they videotaped defensive signals by the Jets' coaches.

Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. The Patriots have been suspected in previous incidents

I agree with Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward is saying...."You would hope that, during their run, when they were winning all their Super Bowls, all that stuff wasn't going on. You look back in the past, and we played them in the championship games, and you kind of wonder. It seemed like they were a step ahead of us at all times, but those games are behind us. There's nothing we can do about it. You just look forward and see what the commissioner will do."

Sports is supposed to be about good conduct as much as winning.

Money can be a corrupting force.

He already apologized. And what sucks is all they will loose is next years 1st round draft picks, which doesn't really matter since they always have one of the last picks anyways. They should make them forfeit the game and all stats. That way I can win my fantasy football from last week. Damn Brady.

so they are definitely cheating and yet they keep the win??? can the JETS protest this and get the win or a no result....????

I'm not sure how that's going to work but it would seem to me that the data collected from videos would be more beneficial in a playoff situation or next year unless they had live feeds and were analyzing and breaking down hand signals on the fly

oh i thought the recording was actually affecting the game in itself and helped them win.....unfortunately the only english speaking TV station in my hotel is BBC...im in Moscow and missed game 1 of the J E T S

I like the Patriots and think they have one of if not the most talented teams in the NFL. The worst part about something like this is that how many games did they do this in and not get caught? It kind of puts a question mark on a lot of their winning seasons
