Jace 09-12-2007 02:57 AM

fuck em all man

UPS left a fucking $600 amplifier on my doorstep this morning WHILE IT WAS RAINING, and didn't even bag it up, AND didn't ring my doorbell.....the rain soaked through the two boxes it was packed in, the manual just started getting wet when I dragged it in.....luckily the amp was still dry, but if it had been another 15 minutes I would have had a fucked amp

Aren't they supposed to get you to sign for the receipt of the parcel?

Only if the shipper demands it.

UPS stopped requiring that on shipments that go to stand alone houses about 3 years ago

if it is an apartment they won't leave it on the doorstep, but any residential single unit home does not require signing

I have called them about this over and over and requested that I ALWAYS have to sign for my shit, and they keep saying they will make a note on my account, but the driver ALWAYS leaves my shit on the doorstep

we are always traveling and shit, they don't care....we have come home from being away for 2 weeks and found shit just sitting there soaked from rain, turns out it had been there like 9 days or some shit

Want a sure way to get a sig everytime? Make a claim against UPS. They wont leave a empty envelope at your house

Yeah... I'm not a fan of UPS.

Every time we're expecting a package from them (I live in a gated apartment complex), we have to leave a note on the front door assuring them we're home, and to buzz us...

Elsewise, they'll just leave a sticky-note on the front window (and after the thirs, we have to drive to them) without even bothering to ring.

FedEx, though... absolutely no problem.

LiveDose 09-12-2007 08:05 PM

Damn Jace that sucks about the amp. Thank god you saved it.

UPS lost two boxes of product samples that I sent from a hotel in LA about two years ago. I am still being given the run around on a claim. Valued at about $800. Fuckin' silly.

Update on my DHL fiasco. So after no updates on my delivery suddenly today the envelope gets delivered and all the wacked out tracking info shows up online. This after I told them to put a stop on any delivery if the package was found. Monday I sent out a courier to make my LOCAL delivery again. Now I have a stop payment on the first $2500 check. What a mess.

Not that I dont believe you, but of what advantage would it be to the driver to walk to your apt on 3 seperate days and not ring the doorbell when he could deliver it in one day?

GrouchyAdmin 09-12-2007 08:14 PM

FedEx delivered my Christmas gift to myself (an iPod) and left it at the door of my old apartment. Apple will not let them leave items without a signature - it is (or was) part of their deal with Apple.

Who signed for it?
F. Rontdoor

Who ran off with it?
Fuck if I know.

Yeah, Apple was about as pleased as I was.

I have had 4 claims in 2 residences from them in the past 5 years, all paid out the value of the merchandise...they still leave the shit without a sig

they just don't care, and that is completely evident to anyone that has called them and tried to resolve this issue

Axeman 09-12-2007 08:24 PM

I hate DHL but I also hate UPS. Fedex is the only one I find is fairly reliable.

There's the hassle of dialing in our security code, waiting for an answer, and then hiking for a full minute to our apartment's front door - and then back again.

I'd imagine that scribbling on a note as they walk up's a lot quicker than dealing with the fuss.

I can only assume that's their motivation.

As Jace said - it seems they just don't care.
