So I donated blood today
 

One of the screening questions was:

"Have you ever had a gay sexual encounter, even if only once?"

Did you score?

Don't they screen all the blood equally? I had several transfusions a few years ago and one pint made me really sick. They said that's not unusual. Even though it was the same blood type and everything, just something about it didn't jive with my system. They removed it after about 15 minutes and replaced it with another bag. But again, I'd hope it was tested completely and they didn't just go by someone not wanting to admit they blew Joey during a drunk night in college!!

Donating blood is a good deed. I want to do it myself, but the hospital is so goddamn far away/Im lazy!

:1orglaugh Good for you hun...I wish I could donate, but just walking by the sign makes me weak in the knees :( It's a huge ordeal for me to get blood tests...

They asked that when they did high school blood drives back when I was there in the 90's. I had a couple gay friends that had at that stage only had one encounter and they decided not to go give blood because they were sure the details would go back to the school. You would think they would just screen everything these days...I mean I sure would hope so.

I told them I saw High School Musical and thought that was a gay encounter. The nurse didn't bat an eye.

I think i do too many drugs to even think about donating my blood to anyone...

I had hepatitis 'B' in 1973 so I can't donate blood. I've been checked several times since then and there are no issues with my liver though.
