Are Fat People Intelligent?
 

I have not met any yet (I'm not talking about intelligent in one field or area) but well rounded throughout life.

Not sure exactly what the weight of a person has to do with their intelligence, but I would say that I know fat people that are smart as hell and I know some fat people that should be classified as miracles because they've made it as far as they have in life.

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

You are confused. I am not saying that fat people don't earn large incomes.

It is obvious in most cases if you are overweight, that one area in life, you don't understand a lot about is regarding diet and exercise... which is pretty darn important IMO. What's the sense in making millions of dollars if you die from a heart attack at 35 years old (this just happened to a wealthy builder who lived in my neighborhood the newspapers said he was worth over 35 million) and yes he was overweight.

Yeah there are some, but it maybe only be book smarts. Usually they are lacking in other areas of intelligence.

Yes obviously an intelligent man (in one area) but not quite an example of a well-rounded human being. Would you wanna be him? you get all his money as well, is his physical conditioning and body... his discipline, habits and current health condition?

Makes you think... is the money worth it?

I also know plenty people that are fat and smart (but not well-rounded in all aspects of life).

I have a lot of respect for shoemoney, because being fat was a lifestyle and he had the discipline to change his lifestyle.

I'm curious if you ask him... If he thinks he is now sharper and more advanced thinker after he change his lifestyle? What would he say?

I'm not sure if I can define very many well-rounded individuals in modern society, let alone attempt to do so if limited to a specific body shape.

Dude I am very content with myself and do not dwell or envy other people's wealth or success.

I have my own mesures of success and have set my own goals.

Thing is it's not how you look or how your wallet looks. It's how you live/run your life and if you are happy with it. :thumbsup

I am overweight and this is another goal i set myself and so far happy on the way I am wokring at it as well.

But yo!! .. since you are talking about well-rounded man ... how someone is assumed to prove that a fat guy is well rounded? We all can know the status/money/achievements of big guys .. but how the hell we know how he deals with his children? Or how good he is to his friends? How much is his IQ level and stuff?

That's kind of my point... you would deftly have to know this person on a personal level in order to make that assessment fairly. In general (from my personal experience) when people are out of balance in one aspect of their life. It seems to roll over into other areas.

It seems to me that you have your mind made up, and this thread is pointless. People are giving you examples of fat people who have achieved, and they're getting shot down as not well-rounded in character. Who is? As no one of any success level is close to perfect, what could possibly qualify as well rounded?

I could offer Winston Churchill as a particularly heavy person who had great world influence and fame, but I suppose you'd just say he only got fat after he left his military carrer, so he doesn't count?

What about Benjamin Franklin?
