What is your favorite whois type site, one that gives you the most info such as history etc. without charging?

I use whois.sc to look up info, and a search from within my registrar if I am looking for names to purchase.

For just basic whois i just do a quick command line query. As far as history goes I usually get what I want from http://whois.domaintools.com. Its not completely free though

if i am searching for a domain to register, always i use my server console, cause most sites sell their whois queries to a 3rd party, so if i see a domain and decide i want it a couple days later, a lot of times it has been snagged
