What happens if you run a windows virus in linux via Wine?
 

I envision my computer freaking out with a prompt finally that says "I am so confused."

It would probably just barf like wine is accostomed to :)

I had to create a new vmware machine this week though thanks to some nasty auto installing trojans...

Wine has come a long way since I last used it a year or two ago.... but yeah, it's still a long way from home.
Linux needs a Parallels program or something, like Mac has.

Worst that should happen is it deletes everything in your home directory.

The virus will be contained in the virtual environment created by Wine.
