Anita Roddick dies
 

One less powerful woman in business...with ethics no less. I remember her saying she was sick a bit back but didn't know she was that close to going.

only 64y.old... damn, RIP

Never heard about her before.

She started the Body Shop chain.

Wow what a shock surprise...... really sad.

Awesome entrepreneur - with incredibly high sense of ethics and who made ethics actually work in favour of their business model (which is itself highly unusual).

She was so lively etc - I never thought of her as being over sixty but thats just a terrible shock.

She had Hep C which she got through a blood transfusion while giving birth. Apparently she didn't know she had it until last year.

When did she give birth?!?

Was the hep c instrumental in her death in anyway?

She died at the same age my mother passed away. R.I.P. Anita Roddick. I definitely appreciate her 'ethical business' initiatives and fair trade ideas.

Sheesh... she was 64??? We are all getting too old - remember her well when she was a slip of a girl :)

Anita Roddick was another one in a smallish group of people who headed more towards being socially responsible in her biz dealings - as opposed to going out and grabbing every last dollar. It was never about money and part of the reason for her success.

Anita also done plenty of good stuff related to human rights - she deserves full cred for her efforts and enthusiasm. RIP girl.

Just watched a news segment on her passing.

A true visionary...something this world could use more of these days.

She certainly made a contribution in her own way.

Over 30 years ago. That daughter was with her when she died. They are saying she died of a sudden brain hemerage.

I also appreciated the way her company represented beauty. The had a long running campaign using bigger women and it featured a BBW Barbie style doll that became iconic in that community.
