I'm tired of Thunderbird, what email client do YOU use?

This latest release of TB is fucking up again with bugs (on my end though). Also, i am getting a new PDA which i will use as an agenda too, and TB does not have an agenda. Would you say Outlook is good to use these days?

Is there anything else that will easily work with my email as well as agenda?

Does Outlook have spamfilters like TB?

Naughty 09-10-2007 12:03 PM

Oh, and can you setup your Gmail account through Outlook?

StuartD 09-10-2007 12:04 PM

Klen 09-10-2007 12:05 PM

Well thunderbird act realy weird lately but since i have 1 gb of mails inside i dont know how to transfer that to another mail client.Question is that possible.

Jace 09-10-2007 12:13 PM

Outlook 2003, going to upgrade to 2007 here soon after it is out for a few more months

Naughty 09-10-2007 12:17 PM

I might switch to Outlook too.

@Klen: Do you ever compact?

Sansa 09-10-2007 12:49 PM

Google Apps - just use gmail for your domain.

ztik 09-10-2007 12:56 PM

outlook express :)

Elli 09-10-2007 01:01 PM

Hmm my profile in TBird is 900MB and I haven't had any problems at all. I've noticed Firefox being flakey, though.

Farang 09-10-2007 01:06 PM

gmail is the best imo:thumbsup

Naughty 09-10-2007 02:24 PM

Ok, so there's no alternative to Outlook that allows you to sync calender dates and contacts?

ARS Bryan 09-10-2007 02:30 PM

Thunderbird seems to have a memory leak like Firefox. I'll leave TB running over the weekend and catch it running at 90+ mb memory usage. Fucking annoying considering it's just an email client. I too would like to switch but I'm not sure I want to use Outlook.

tiger 09-10-2007 04:16 PM

Thunderbird is pretty good. Seems it starts to act funny with massive amounts of email though.

Yeah, same issue here.

I'm getting Outlook 2007 today though, i'll test it with a few email accounts.

look at "the bat"

KILL_FRENZY 09-11-2007 04:49 AM

I use thunderbird and it's good

dready 09-11-2007 07:02 AM

Thunderbird is pretty crappy in general. I was using Eurora before this and it's 10X more reliable. I switched because they stopped developing Eudora and were going to base it on Thunderbird anyway. Sucks. I don't know any other decent alternative. I will never use Outlook.

czarina 09-11-2007 07:03 AM

outlook... I know, I know... I'm so old fashioned!

fris 09-11-2007 07:41 AM

i just use windows mail with vista

Mickey_ 09-11-2007 08:19 AM

Two suggestions

1. DO NOT switch to outlook 2007
2. Use the bat! (it managed to run smoothly with millions (!) of emails in its db)

Outlook is great for agenda, contacts, etc. but i strongly advise against using outlook 2007 for email purposes...

I upgraded my thunderbird to latest version and i cannot add new mail filters anymore(meanwhile old one works).Any idea why?

tranza 09-11-2007 08:30 AM

Using Outlook over here.

Jim_Gunn 09-11-2007 09:18 AM

I am a long term Eudora user. There's a free version. Works great for me.

Angie77 09-11-2007 10:09 AM

try anything BUT Gmail. Such crap.

'So Fucking Money 09-11-2007 10:19 AM

i still use thunderbird but I also use Gmail and it's gmail notifier. Check it out. Works great on a mac Not sure about PC.

geeknik 09-11-2007 10:20 AM

I use gmail.

yo!! 09-11-2007 10:24 AM

yo... gmail (the ultimate spam filter)

GT-Omar 09-11-2007 10:25 AM

I used TB for a while, and when I got my new laptop I went from TB to win mail, and have been much happier with it. The funky thing with TB is it won't export your files, folders or messages. There is a way around that though.

I can help. I just did this

ServerGenius 09-11-2007 10:32 AM

Thunderbird is quite alright it's the people who use it that fuck it up. :2 cents:

gornyhuy 09-11-2007 10:50 AM

Thunderbird and Outlook both have plenty of problems, I have no idea which is the lesser evil, but I'm using TB right now... (hating it).

I'll check out the bat, I want a good alternative damn it. How fucking hard can it be!?!?!?

Naughty 09-11-2007 02:41 PM

haha, looks like lots of people are looking for alternatives.

_Rush_ 09-11-2007 02:43 PM

Pegasus?

Sosa 09-11-2007 02:44 PM

I use outlook

peterk 09-11-2007 04:52 PM
