If American 'Grid Iron' Football is the hardest sport on earth
then how did America have the shit kicked out of them yesterday by the English...
http://www.rfu.com/2007/follow-engla...ory_17617.html Cant play because you dont have your nancy boy pads. I cant wait untill my team, the all blacks meet you. Although it probably wont happen as Team Gay USA will be out by then. I still love it how some Americans think that the rest of the world doesnt play American Football because we cant afford the equipment. We dont need the equipment, something your nancy boy army should realise. |

STFU NOOB!!! That's fucking rugby! WHat's up with all of those pussy stances and shit! Give me a fucking break! Sounds like a bunch of pussies yelling for their mommas!! Put the New Orleans Saints or the Dallas Cowboys out there and we'd beat the shit out of those pussies!! The biggest guy out there was like 5'8" and 200 lbs. Our teams are born bigger than that!
Your pussy ass team https://youtube.com/watch?v=9Zvs4T4RU30&NR=1 A Real FOOTBALL Team https://youtube.com/watch?v=2jZ_RGNFauo |
If the world's best rugby players could make it in the NFL, they'd be offered large contracts to come here. Funny how that never happens, huh?

Having played both, Gridiron FAR tougher in terms of what can be done within the rules.
Rugby Union/League Comparing the US Eagles Union team to anything remotely related to the NFL is idiocy. If the NFL stars were paid as much to play Union, say goodbye to the All Blacks, The Wallabies, The Springboks and any other team. For size, speed and strength they would simply never match up. 2c |
are you fucking kidding me? hardest sport on earth???
Tell that to any boxer or MMA fighter. Shit the NFL is harder than rugby. |
I don't think anyone says its the hardest. Cycling would be the hardest for me. It really depends on what each person is good at. That MMA shit doesnt impress me at all. Its over so fast how can it be hard. I know dig is probably blowing his stack right now.... I Was illustrating how it is 95% opinion so why even discuss it? I think the NFL is the most fun to watch of all sporting leagues and I would love to see them crush fuck some frilly rugby guys.
|
Tried watching NFL a few years back but stopped after someone was given oxygen after running 50 yards - I was like wtf? They can't be that unfit surely! And then one team trots off and they put on another team! At this point I lost the will to live. Its an odd sport and you can see why it doesn't travel well outside of the US.
|
Lol @ the NFL fags, they need fucking helmets, big padding and take fucking breaks every minute, they are all ex drug dealers from 'da hood' turned dumb pussy nfl players, not to mention half of them suck steroids like its their mummas tit.

What do I mean by that? simple, first off if you look at a rugby team, all of the players are truly built almost exactly alike, a lot of them remind me of bouncers at your normal pub or strip club due to the whacked out ways that they have. I have nothing against rugby to be honest, but to me, its a bunch of guys running all over the field slamming the shit out of each other with no real plays. Hell, I think the closest sport to this I have seen is ultimate frisbee, and for the record, rugby wasnt its own sport to begin with either. Rugby was derived from soccer. Now lets take a look at the NFL. Nobody is the same size. All positions within defense and offense take a certain amount of skill in one area or another. In order for the LONG passes that are completed, there are things that have to be done by each member of the team. For instance, lets start with the line. Huge gorillas that have to protect the quarterback for a long amount of time while the receivers run great distances at high speeds in order to make a completion even when that receiver may be defended by up to three people. There are also other receivers as well attempting to line up for a completion. So the quarterback has oh 15 seconds maximum to choose one of many receivers to get the ball while trusting his linemen to do the work needed to keep from getting his head ripped off by people that are double his size. So all of this goes to one conclusion. TEAMWORK. The quarterback has to have the passing talent and quick decision making skills for the completion, the receiver has to line up for the reception at high speeds and make the catch of an overly fast moving football, and the linemen have to protect the quarterback while all of this is going on. I'm not even gonna get into rushing. Think of it this way, Rugby is a sport designed for everyone to do the same thing, hike the ball, push, dont get tackled, tackle. the NFL has different sets of talent all over the field, offense, defense, special teams. Its a sport based on working with your team based on their skills and your own. :2 cents: |
apples and oranges are the same thing with a different name.
Remember to leave the missus at home, she'll get you in trouble for jumping the fence and eating the grass. |
It's a case of if the rugby team were to don the pads and take on any NFL team for one game they'd be annihilated in the 1st quarter.
But I suspect that if the reverse were to occur and the nfl team were to take OFF the pads and play rugby, they would actually fair far better than people might think. Some of these guys bench over 400 lbs with ease. Others can run 50 yards in a handful of seconds. Still others are geared simply to run through traffic, find their target and take him down like a frieght train demolishes a toyota. I'd actually like to see those two games. :D |
NFL = Olympic sprinters and 360 lb lineman who could run you down in a straightaway with no problem at all.
Rugby = drunk guys having fun on the weekend. Boxing = people who otherwise be in prison, at the highest levels of the sport in the best physical condition a human body can attain, trying to kill each other (and sometimes succeeding) with punches to the face and body. Oh yeah, rugby's the toughest sport for sure :D |

London food sucks ass! Best restaraunts in the world are in the USA baby!

What's funny is. England didn't even play well against the US and didn't cover the line. The majority of our players are amateurs while England was paid professionals. I would be embarrassed to talk shit just on those factors alone.

Sports are lame. That is all.

I am not a huge Rugby fan aside from watching the internationals every now and then and don't really care which is harder to play because I am more interested in which game is more entertaining which is where NFL fails for me although I accept that probably you have to be bought up on the game to appreciate it. The language NFL supporters use is curious in that it seems to fixate on the speed/power of the players and compares them to 'diesel trains/mach trucks' and so on. Now why this obsession with the physique and attributes of the players? Is it some homo erotic thing at work? The skill of soccer players we do talk about ie some sublime ball skill or deftness of touch but its more about finesse than power and certainly not in the context of how much he can bench press. Maybe Rugby fans focus more on power as there is more physical contact (obviously) but as I don't really follow the game I am not going to say one way or other. Baseball I like but NFL is just bastardised rugby with padded suits and will remain an American oddity. Although there may be marketing potential in the non-American gay community :thumbsup |
you can't even compare the two because the game play is entirely different. in the NFL they use pads for a fucking reason. its the over the middle passes, the up the middle full speed running backs, quarter backs sitting in the pocket, etc..
its not like rugby where you get leg tackled and dogpiled. i mean shit we used to do that when we were kids on the front lawn thats not saying much for their toughness or skill factor. |
A guy in the NFL almost died (still could) in a game yesterday. Guys are permanently disabled all the time playing the game. Most NFL players leave the game with horrible problems later in life. The NFL is filled with some of the most elite and strongest athletes in the world. You have guys who can run a 4.4 40 and are 250 pounds.

america doesn't like the fact we are better than them at just about everything in a country where people choose to achieve. I will say that both sports no-matter how you debate them, are totally different strategically and tactically, and it is actual fact that it resembles our afl more (where aussies have been known to be drafted from if suitable for it) as opposed to rugby. I reckon this is such a pointless argument, and definately one i remember having when I was 5 or 6 in the school yard fighting over who had the biggest dad. Let me tell you, i always one cause my dad IS bigger than yours.

Why is that? Why the need to fling faggy insults on those who find enjoyment watching a sport you don't "get" or identify with? There are plenty of sports I don't care for or like to watch but I'm not making it my mission to jump on threads about them and run my mouth insinuating faggotry on all those who are fans. I honestly don't get some of you guys. You have no idea how much fun you're missing out on with the NFL pools. |

this is from your very own sun saying how you guys have some fat asses too http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...tml?Arses=Huge "OLYMPICS chiefs have ordered super-sized seats for London’s 2012 Games — because fans are getting FATTER." |
Again with comparing Rugby and Football. Listen up foreigner, the games are different and can't be compared. Since you seem to think that Rugby players are tougher because they don't wear pads, then I would challenge any Rugby players to play American football without the pads, since they are so tough. Seems fair enough to me. Send me the video of youre tough ass Rugby players in a football game and I will laugh everytime the ambulance shows up for you Euro fags. Good Luck.

This thread = gay
Not sure how many times this same thread has been posted here but it's ridiculous. Why do people in other countries always feel like they need to measure up against the U.S.? Just face it, you wish your country was as cool as ours and deal with it. We might not be the best at everything or anything but I sure the fuck wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Especially if Rugby was the main sport in that country. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
