Santa Monica Loews Hotel

Good place or what?????????

C H R I S 09-07-2007 05:31 PM

Yeah right on the beach - alot of kids at the pool though.

Stay at Shutters or Viceroy - you'll like it better.

baddog 09-07-2007 05:32 PM

Think I went there once . . . don't recall the rooms being anything special . . . but I may be thinking of somewhere next to it.

Do you want to stay in Santa Monica or closer in to Beverly Hills/ Hollywood?

PrivateEye 09-07-2007 05:38 PM

Its pretty nice.....

The rooms are small but nice :-)

JA$ON 09-07-2007 05:39 PM

Its about as cheap as you'll find on the beach. If you want a step up, try "Shutters" which is a block away.

JA$ON 09-07-2007 05:39 PM

I dont mean "bad" cheap....I mean resonable prices

D 09-07-2007 05:40 PM

Yeah... you'd like the Viceroy more.

I've gone out there a few nights just to have drinks and hang in the cabanas. Good times.

Loews is livable, though.

Is that the hotel I met you and HP at?

WonderWoman 09-07-2007 05:48 PM

In Santa Monica, I will repeat what everyone else is saying about Shutters and Viceroy.

In Beverly Hills you have the Avalon and Four Seasons on Doheny.

In Hollywood The Standard, The Roosevelt, or the Argyle.

HAPPYPEEKERS 09-07-2007 06:03 PM

We stayed there for a few days last year.. the rooms are teeny tiny and it is not Actually Oceanfront.. there is a road and park in between.

I give it a 6 out of 10

Oh yes... Casa Del Mar is a beautiful hotel. Pricey and a bit old school but great rooms.

Then be advised, your average walk-in closet on MTV Cribs is bigger than the rooms at Loews. :1orglaugh

V_RocKs 09-07-2007 06:25 PM

It is a good hotel.... But if you want to party take the other guys advice and stay somewhere else... It is where the well-off or rich families go so their kids are safe.

rhon23 09-07-2007 06:42 PM

as far as santa monica goes I love the Shangri La.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 09-07-2007 08:48 PM

Check out the Hotel Oceana.

It's a very laid back place, and the suites facing the ocean are quite nice. Plenty of room for you and your mantourage to kick it in comfort in between salacious sorties...

The suites have a kitchen area with a large refrigerator, which is good to have in case you are planning to party in the room much at all (if you like your booze cold and quesadillas heated).

I second Shutters. Superb hotel.

RP Fade 09-08-2007 12:26 AM

It's pretty good..great sunday brunches :thumbsup

Viceroy, Shutters or Casa Del Mar are good choices.

Also, if you need a hookup, I've got a relative who's an executive at the Huntley in Santa Monica. It's not ocean front, one block away, but they remodeled it, the bar at the top called 'the penthouse' is one of the hottest spots in LA right now. Plus, it's owned by Persians I know :thumbsup
