What's going on with Epass?
Crazy shit...
In the morning I had $250.11, in the afternoon I saw that I have $250.00 and now I see that I have $249.85 And there are no transactions made :321GFY Just my balance is changing from nothing Wtf is going on ? :error |
i wrote a script that took 15 cents from everyone
|
|
I would report it. There are scripts out there that log in to micro-payment systems like that, and steal small amounts, But remember they freeze the account while investigating.

Next time you visit a bank, ask the manager about this, and you will change your mind. |

but how does a script actually steals? I mean where does money go? If it go to some other account, that must be in transaction history .. isn't it? Also, no fees are deducted for such transfer? And how that script logs in on the first hand? And why it only steals cents? why not all money? Moreover, if its such a popular problem that you are suggesting me to ask my manager .. it should have been fixed by now. too strange thing for me. |
Good gawd that would be near impossible to monitor as a user and well trying to prove it would be even worse.
I am sure many others are in the same boat as I am. I have a general idea of how much is in my epassporte, yet rarely down to the cents. I could only rely on the transactions records. Hell the one time I noticed money missing I discovered in my log that I had to rebill my epass account (yearly renewal fee). Then of course I am sure someone will explain that it was a software mistake and it was correcting the balance or some shit. Though it makes me very uncomfortable. |
I think if you are making transactions or withdrawals in foreign currencies it will make small corrects here and there. They show up on the monthly statements.
|
heh, maybe ePass ran a few hundred dollars short on the rent, so they figured it out and if they stole exactly 14 cents from every account, they could make up the shortfall.
|
When transactions in foreign currency settles the amount can differ a little from the Outstanding charge that is why you see you balance change.
|
a couple of cents may seem little but let's say 5,000 accounts x .15 cents = $750 a day.
